Summary: A UV-curable anti-smudge cathodic electrophoretic coating was developed by copolymerizing various acrylic monomers and adding heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate (FOEA) as a functional monomer. The coating exhibited low surface energy and was crosslinked using dipentaerythritol penta/hexaacrylate (5-Acl). The coating showed self-cleaning and anti-graffiti capabilities, as well as resistance to chemical corrosion and mechanical damage. The findings suggest that this coating has great potential in the metal protection industry.

Summary: This article examines how people have constructed touchscreen smudges as a form of 'mess'. It offers a historical account of smudges between 2007 and 2010, when smudges were framed as a problem for mobile media. Solutions included engineering special screen coatings or cultivating responsible users. Smudges were denigrated for violating high-tech aesthetics and drawing attention to porous, tactile and germ-riddled bodies. The article encourages scholars to attend to the ways that users are entreated to tame and groom both their bodies and their media devices in particular socio-historical contexts.

Summary: In this work, a novel sorbitol-based epoxy anti-smudge coatings (EPs) system were developed with SE as raw material, PDMS-NH2 as a liquid-repellent agent and isophorone diamine as a curing agent. These coatings show excellent thermal stability and exhibit remarkable self-cleaning performance with good liquid repellency to various liquids. Additionally, they have high transparency, excellent corrosion resistance, and can be dyed into different colors without affecting their anti-ink performance, making them suitable for practical applications.

Summary: This article introduces a simple method to fabricate highly transparent omniphobic coatings using PDMS as a low-surface-tension reagent incorporated into the polyurethane matrix. The coating shows excellent repellency to liquids with surface tensions higher than 20mN/m and has self-cleaning performance. It can be easily applied to various substrates without affecting its ink repellency, especially for fabric with anti-smudge performance.

Summary: In this study, transparent and omniphobic bio-based polyurethane coatings with high hardness, excellent anti-smudge and anti-corrosion properties were successfully prepared. The effects of R-value and PDMS-OH dosage on coating properties were thoroughly investigated. The coatings exhibited anti-smudge properties and maintained their performance even after multiple polishing cycles. Moreover, the coatings provided better corrosion protection for tinplate compared to regular polyurethane coatings.

Summary: UV/moisture dual curable siloxymethyl-modified silicone acrylate (SMSA) prepolymers were synthesized via sequential hydrosilylation of pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETTA), hydride-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (H-PDMS), and trimethoxysilane (TMOS). These prepolymers combine the advantages of UV and moisture curing, allowing for rapid curing and addressing the issues of UV curing in shadowed areas and thick coatings. The dual curing process also resolves the problems of oxygen inhibition and poor adhesion commonly associated with conventional UV-curable silicone materials. The UV/moisture dual cured coatings have potential applications in UV-curable anti-smudge and anti-fingerprint coatings.

Summary: The CO0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles modified by phosphoric acid and (sic)NCO groups were used as flame-retardants and cross-linking centers to improve their dispersibility and flame-retardant properties. A two-component polyester-based anti-smudge and flame retardant hybrid coating was prepared using dihydroxy mono-terminated PDMS and dipentaerythritol (Di-PE). The hybrid coatings showed excellent anti-graffiti properties, corrosion resistance, and improved thermal and flame retardant properties.

Summary: The development of technologies such as big data analytics, cloud services, IoT, personal mobile devices, social networks, and AI has created a strong demand for enterprises to accumulate information. The amount of recorded data is increasing by about 30-40% per year. Magnetic tape, hard disk drives, and solid-state drives are used for data storage. Hard disk drives are projected to control over half of the world's data due to their low cost per TB. This paper discusses new technologies to meet the growing density demands and competitive solid-state drives for data storage.
