Summary: Electrochemical capacitors are effective energy storage devices, and the electrolyte plays a significant role in their performance. Different types of electrolytes, including organic, ionic liquids, water in salt, and redox-active electrolytes, exhibit diverse behavior in influencing the charge/discharge mechanism and overall performance of the capacitors. This review emphasizes the importance of electrolyte type and discusses emerging electrolytes and new directions in the field.

Summary: This study recorded atmospheric concentrations of individual pollen types with an automatic sampler for the first time. The data were collected in Novi Sad, Serbia during the 2019 pollen season. The study found that turbulence kinetic energy (TKE) affects the homogeneity of pollen clouds. Sub-hourly data revealed the heterogeneous nature of pollen in the air, with mostly single pollen grains recorded per second.

Summary: The study aimed to understand the impact of gas pockets on adaptive MRgRT treatment by evaluating the electronic density of gas pockets. The analysis showed that GIGED is the appropriate RED for Gastrointestinal Gas and AGV is a useful parameter for assessing the effect of gas pockets on dose distribution. Furthermore, the study found that Gamma Passing Rate anticorrelates with AGV for different plan comparisons.

Summary: Indices of morphological and molecular disparity are used to summarize variation within species groups, and the former is more influenced by subjective character selection. Molecular disparity is found to be less influenced by sampling biases and can be obtained in a more objective and automated manner than morphological data. Comparisons between morphological and molecular disparity can provide a fuller picture of subclade evolution.

Summary: Studies from over 30 years ago first suggested the association between abnormal galectin expression and cancer. Today, we know that galectins actively participate in various types of cancer by influencing cell growth, conferring resistance to cell death, and inducing immunosuppression, which allows tumor cells to evade the host immune response. However, most research has focused on a small number of galectins, particularly galectin-1, galectin-3, galectin-7, and galectin-9. The role of other galectins, especially placental galectins, in cancer remains unclear. This review explores the potential involvement of placental galectins in cancer progression, highlighting the need for further research tools and targeted therapeutic strategies.

Summary: Simultaneous sensing of metabolic analytes such as pH and O-2 is critical in complex and heterogeneous biological environments where analytes often are interrelated. Machine learning has shown potential to overcome challenges in optical sensing by solving nested and multidimensional correlations. This study presents a proof-of-concept approach for simultaneous imaging of pH and dissolved O-2 using a machine learning model based on a decision tree algorithm.

Summary: Stigma related to viruses can have harmful health consequences and exacerbate social and health inequalities. It can lead to secrecy about symptoms, avoidance of testing and vaccination, and further spread of disease. This study explored the experiences of stigma among 20 COVID-19 recovered patients during the first wave of the pandemic, finding that stigma was pervasive throughout the entire process. Based on the data, it is hypothesized that stigma is a significant public health concern that requires comprehensive interventions to reduce infectious disease-related stigma.

Summary: This study investigated the acute mental health symptoms and tobacco initiation among nonlocal responders involved in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. The results showed that female responders were more likely to experience concurrent depression and anxiety symptoms, while tobacco initiation was negatively associated with age and officer rank. These findings suggest that the oil spill response work has an impact on the mental health and behavior of responders, highlighting the importance of addressing the mental health needs of nonlocal responders and implementing appropriate interventions.

Summary: The US Department of Defense has integrated behavioural health providers into primary care settings over the past 25 years to improve and personalize the delivery of behavioural healthcare. The Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model allows for brief and targeted appointments with service members and their families to ensure necessary care is received while reducing barriers associated with seeking behavioural healthcare. This review examines the components and implementation of the PCBH model by the DoD, training methods used, and briefly discusses research evaluating its effectiveness.

Summary: Around 19 million students attend college in the United States, with 20% of youth having special health care needs. Physicians play a vital role in facilitating the transition of youth to adult health care and should monitor for issues like drug diversion and learning disorders. Various common health issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance use can impact school performance. Immunizations for influenza, HPV, meningococcus, and pertussis are crucial for this high-risk population. LGBTQ+ students have unique health care needs that should be addressed.
