A Scoping Review of Effective Teaching Strategies in Surface Anatomy

A multimodal approach was commonly used in surface anatomy instruction, emphasizing the importance of further research on the effectiveness of these teaching strategies in authentic learning environments.

What Are the Common Themes of Physician Resilience? A Meta-Synthesis of Qualitative Studies

Summary: This study aims to develop a concept of resilience in the context of physicians' experience through a meta-synthesis of relevant qualitative studies. Six key themes of resilience were identified: tenacity, resources, reflective ability, coping skills, control, and growth. Resilient physicians are determined, have control in their professional lives, reflect on adversity, utilize adaptive coping strategies, and believe that adversity provides an opportunity for growth. They are supported by individual and organizational resources.

Medical Students' and Trainees' Country-By-Gender Profiles: Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Across Sixteen Diverse Countries

Summary: This study fills the gap in researching cultural dimensions within the medical student and trainee population by conducting international comparisons. The results show that power distance and masculinity are relatively consistent among medical students and trainees from different countries, while uncertainty avoidance shows the greatest diversity. The study also identifies four country clusters and compares the differences between the data from medical students and trainees and Hofstede's general population data.

Five-Year Trend of Measles and Its Associated Factors in Pahang, Malaysia: A Population-Based Study

Summary: Measles incidence in Pahang, Malaysia has not improved significantly in the past five years. Vaccination is crucial in preventing measles, especially among isolated populations such as indigenous people.

Prognostic Factor of Lower Limb Amputation among Diabetic Foot Ulcer Patients in North-East Peninsular Malaysia

Summary: This study aimed to determine the prognostic factors of lower limb amputation (LLA) among diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) patients. The results revealed that abnormal HDL cholesterol levels were associated with an increased risk of LLA, while age 60 or older and obesity were associated with a decreased risk of LLA.

Understanding the Functional Components of Technology-Enhanced Learning Environment in Medical Education: A Scoping Review

Summary: This review identified nine components with 25 subcomponents of effective online learning environments in medical education. These components include cognitive enhancement, content curation, digital capability, technological usability, pedagogical practices, learner characteristics, learning facilitator, social representations, and institutional support. These components interact with each other and play a crucial role in online learning platforms. A technology-enhanced learning in medical education (TELEMEd) model is proposed as a framework for evaluating online learning environment in medical education.
