Summary: In this study, Biotransformation of the neo-clerodane diterpene scutebarbatine F by Streptomyces sp. CPCC 205437 was investigated for the first time, leading to the isolation of nine new metabolites. These metabolites were characterized using extensive high-resolution mass spectrometry and NMR data analyses. Some of the compounds showed cytotoxic, antiviral, and antibacterial activities.

Summary: Three previously unreported linear polyketide derivatives, Alpiniamides E-G, along with two known compounds, were isolated from Streptomyces sp. QHA48, which was obtained from the saline lakes of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The structures of these compounds were elucidated through spectroscopic data analysis, NMR chemical shift calculation using density functional theory, DP4+ algorithm, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. In a cell-based lipid-lowering assay, all five alpiniamides demonstrated significant inhibition of lipid accumulation in HepG2 cells at a concentration of 27 μM without inducing cytotoxic effects.

Summary: The pluramycin family of antibiotics includes angucycline compounds derived from actinomycetes with anticancer and antibacterial properties. Pluramycins have a structural characteristic of two linked aminoglycosides on the γ-pyrone angucycline backbone. Kidamycins and rubiflavins were screened and characterized, and their cytotoxicity against breast cancer cell lines was evaluated. Photokidamycin showed significant inhibition of cell growth in both MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 cells.
