Summary: Pulmonary hypertension is commonly seen in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, presenting with non-specific symptoms and negatively affecting survival. It can result from immune system dysregulation, as well as various other conditions. Early diagnosis and identification of underlying pathogenetic mechanisms are crucial for introducing targeted therapy and preventing irreversible pulmonary vascular damage. The management of pulmonary hypertension in SLE patients is similar to that of idiopathic PAH, but specific diagnostic tools for early diagnosis seem to be unavailable yet.

Summary: The REVEAL models show good discriminatory ability in predicting 1-year overall survival in SLE-PAH patients, but caution should be taken when interpreting results related to renal insufficiency, WHO FC III, and heart rate >92 bpm, as there may be some underestimations or discrepancies in these specific risk factors.

Summary: This study evaluates the prognostic value of multivariable risk assessment for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The results show that risk assessment can significantly differentiate long-term survival at baseline and first follow-up, and noninvasive risk assessment methods can be helpful during follow-up when right heart catheterization (RHC) is not available. Additionally, baseline serositis may predict a good treatment response in SLE-associated PAH patients.

Summary: This systematic review examines the variables and prognostic value of risk stratification models in adult and pediatric pulmonary arterial hypertension. The study finds that the most commonly used variables in current risk stratification models are WHO functional class, 6-minute walk distance, and BNP/NT-proBNP. The c-statistics of risk stratification models range from 0.56 to 0.83 in adults and 0.69 to 0.78 in children.

Summary: Using WGCNA, significant modules related to SLE and PAH were identified, with shared genes showing a highly activated type I IFN response as a common feature in the pathophysiology of both diseases. Validation in another cohort confirmed these findings. A disease road model was proposed based on shared and unique gene signatures in SLE and PAH, suggesting a potential role for hsa-miR-146a in regulating IFN-induced genes and its importance in PAH secondary to SLE. This work highlights the high IFN response in SLE patients as a crucial susceptible factor for PAH and identifies novel gene candidates that could serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets.

Summary: This study reviewed patient cohorts and populations to investigate the progression of cutaneous lupus to systemic lupus. The study found variations in the progression rates between adult and pediatric groups, which were attributed to differences in patient populations, study design, diagnostic criteria, and follow-up time. Risk factors associated with the development of systemic lupus included positive anti-nuclear antibodies, hematologic abnormalities, and a higher number of lupus classification criteria at baseline.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the risk factors of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) related to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) through systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The results showed that female gender, interstitial lung disease, alopecia, Raynaud's phenomenon, systemic hypertension, serositis, pericardial effusion, anti-RNP, anti-SSA, anti-SSB, anti-U1RNP, thrombocytopenia, and current smokers were all risk factors for PAH related to SLE.

Summary: This study compared the characteristics and survival rates of patients with systemic sclerosis-associated pulmonary hypertension (SSc-PH) between the last two decades. The results showed that the transplant-free survival rate has significantly improved for patients with group 1 disease over the past decade, possibly due to earlier detection and better therapeutic management. In contrast, patients with group 2 or 3 disease continue to have a poor prognosis.

Summary: The study evaluated survival rates and short-term impact of i.v. prostanoids on SSc-PAH patients. Significant improvements in clinical and haemodynamic parameters were observed with i.v. prostanoid therapy. However, survival remains poor and risk scoring at baseline and during therapy can improve prognostication.

Summary: Many studies did not mention the role of nursing in this area, while some mentioned a non-interventionist role for nurses in the research study. A few studies highlighted nurses as interventionists/psychotherapists, focusing on feasibility, acceptability, and patient-related outcomes of brief psychotherapies. The limited discussion on nursing's ability to deliver psychotherapies to adults with advanced cancer points to a gap in the research that needs to be addressed.

Summary: Complete SCS and SCS with no residual disease are associated with improved PFS and OS in patients with recurrent LGSC. SCS may be a better initial treatment strategy than systemic chemotherapy, with disease distribution and functional status taken into account for evaluation. Prospective studies are needed to further explore the role of SCS in patients with recurrent LGSC.

The effect is consistent in early-stage and metastatic disease and is not sensitive to the method of PD-L1 quantification. Summary: This scoping review examined the experiences of informal cancer caregivers (CGs) who are newcomers with limited language proficiency. A comprehensive literature search yielded 11,289 articles, with 57 articles ultimately included. Most studies were qualitative and published in North America. Communication challenges with healthcare professionals were a significant issue for newcomer CGs, exacerbated by a lack of medical interpreters and the complexity of oncology health information. Efforts are needed to integrate newcomer CGs into cancer care.

Summary: Non-V600 mutations account for approximately 35% of all BRAF mutations in cancer and can be classified into three classes. This meta-analysis suggests that MAPK pathway targeted therapy (MAPK TT) has clinical activity in some BRAF-mutant cancers, and the class of BRAF mutation may determine responsiveness to treatment strategies.
