Purpose: To investigate magnetic resonance (MR) volumetry of endometrial tumors and its association with deep myometrial invasion, tumor grade, and lymphovascular invasion and to assess the value of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) histographic analysis of the whole tumor volume for prediction of tumor grade and lymphovascular invasion. Materials and Methods: The institutional review board approved this retrospective study; patient consent was not required. Between May 2010 and May 2012, 70 women (mean age, 64 years; range, 24-91 years) with endometrial cancer underwent preoperative MR imaging, including axial oblique and sagittal T2-weighted, dynamic contrast material-enhanced, and diffusion-weighted imaging. Volumetry of the tumor and uterus was performed during the six sequences, with manual tracing of each section, and the tumor volume ratio (TVR) was calculated. ADC histograms were generated from pixel ADCs from the whole tumor volume. The threshold of TVR associated with myometrial invasion was assessed by using receiver operating characteristic curves. An independent sample Mann Whitney U test was used to compare differences in ADCs, skewness, and kurtosis between tumor grade and the presence of lymphovascular invasion. Results: No significant difference in tumor volume and TVR was found among the six MR imaging sequences (P = .95 and .86, respectively). A TVR greater than or equal to 25% allowed prediction of deep myometrial invasion with sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 93% (area under the curve, 0.96; 95% confidence interval: 0.86, 0.99) at axial oblique diffusion-weighted imaging. A TVR of greater than or equal to 25% was associated with grade 3 tumors (P = .0007) and with lymphovascular invasion (P > .0001). There was no significant difference in the ADCs between grades 1 and 2 tumors (P > .05). The minimum, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 90th percentile ADCs were significantly lower in grade 3 tumors than in grades 1 and 2 tumors (P < .02). Conclusion: The combination of whole tumor volume and ADC can be used for prediction of tumor grade, lymphovascular invasion, and depth of myometrial invasion. (C) RSNA, 2015

Summary: This study presents the oncological outcomes of Liver Venous Deprivation (LVD) in 17 patients with Colorectal Liver Metastases, showing comparable 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates to Portal Vein Embolization (PVE). Although postoperative complications were observed in 47% of patients, there were no deaths, and hepatic recurrence rate was 52.9%.

Summary: The study found that liver volume and function progress independently regardless of vascular conditions. Hepatic congestion from outflow obstruction drives volume increase but also results in early impaired function.

Summary: The study found that in Western patients, bi- and trifocal HCC significantly increased the risk of distant recurrence, especially very early recurrence. Overall survival after PTA of trifocal HCC was significantly below what was expected after curative treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the response of different cell lines to 12 cytotoxic agents, finding that idarubicin was the most cytotoxic to most colorectal cancer cell lines, while gemcitabine was most effective for certain cell lines. Interestingly, commonly used cytotoxic agents in the treatment of colorectal liver metastases showed limited cytotoxicity in the tested cell lines.

Image-Guided Liver Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Using VMAT and Real-Time Adaptive Tumor Gating: Evaluation of the Efficacy and Toxicity for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Summary: The study demonstrates that stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) using volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and real-time adaptive tumor gating for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is effective with optimal local control and low toxicity, especially in patients not eligible for other local therapies. Additionally, the diameter of lesions and the volume of PTV were found to be associated with disease-free survival and overall survival in HCC patients receiving SBRT with VMAT.

Summary: This study investigated burnout among Saudi radiological sciences students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings showed that 73.3% of the students experienced moderate to high levels of burnout during the pandemic. Burnout increased as students progressed to the fourth year. Implementing a block/modular curriculum structure for fourth-year courses may be necessary to reduce burnout among these students. Academic counseling can help alleviate students' emotional stress and decrease the risk of burnout.

Summary: Liver stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) provides effective local control and minimal toxicity for liver metastases. This study presents the first clinical results of stereotactic MR-guided radiotherapy (MRgRT) for liver metastases from a prospective registry. The treatment was well-tolerated, with low rates of acute and late toxicities. The overall survival and local control rates were promising, but distant relapse remains a challenge.

Summary: Surgical resection is the optimal treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but recurrence is common. This retrospective study analyzed survival after HCC recurrence following liver resection. The time and type of recurrence treatment were found to be major prognostic factors. However, overall survival did not significantly differ between patients who experienced recurrence and those who did not after receiving curative treatment.

Radiomics and radiogenomics in ovarian cancer: a literature review

S. Nougaret, Cathal McCague, Hichem Tibermacine, Hebert Alberto Vargas, Stefania Rizzo, E. Sala

Summary: Despite significant progress in chemotherapy and surgery, ovarian cancer remains one of the most lethal gynecological cancers in the world due to the impact of tumor heterogeneity on treatment response and prognosis. Radiomics offers a method to evaluate the heterogeneity of the whole tumor, instead of relying on single biopsy samples.
