Summary: This study aimed to develop and validate a vitamin D food frequency questionnaire (VitD-FFQ) for assessing vitamin D intake in Moroccan women of reproductive age. The VitD-FFQ was validated against dietary records and a biomarker of vitamin D status. The results showed that the VitD-FFQ had a significant prediction ability and agreement with the reference methods. The validity coefficient for the VitD-FFQ was high, indicating its effectiveness in estimating vitamin D intake.

Summary: This study developed and validated a FFQ for assessing dietary vitamin D intake in healthy adults in the UK, which showed strong correlation and agreement with a 4 d-FD. Significant correlation was also found between plasma 25(OH)D concentrations and vitamin D intake measured by the FFQ and 4 d-FD.

Summary: In recent years, there has been increasing evidence suggesting the potential role of vitamin D in women's health, particularly in postmenopausal women. This evidence includes the connection between vitamin D and various genitourinary disorders and symptoms. Clinical studies have found that vitamin D supplementation can improve vulvovaginal symptoms associated with the genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), such as vaginal pH, dryness, sexual functioning, libido, and urinary tract infections. The effects of vitamin D are mediated through vitamin D receptors (VDRs) and its role in supporting immune function and modulating defense mechanisms. Further research is needed to fully understand these effects. This article aims to review the existing evidence on vitamin D's impact on the vaginal, sexual, and urological health of postmenopausal women. As research in this area continues, vitamin D has the potential to support urogenital and sexual health during the menopausal transition and postmenopausal periods.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the interaction between passive smoking and dietary undernutrition on the risk of vitamin D deficiency. The results showed that the interactions between passive smoking and no nutritional supplementation, passive smoking and insufficient egg intake, and passive smoking and insufficient milk dairy products intake were associated with the risk of vitamin D deficiency.

Summary: Patients with cancer require proper nutrition to combat cancer, alleviate chemotherapy side effects, and prevent recurrence. This study aimed to develop a dish-based semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) to evaluate and validate the nutritional status of Korean cancer patients. The FFQ was validated against 3-day dietary records, and the results indicate its appropriateness for assessing nutritional status in this population.

Summary: This study aimed to validate a food frequency questionnaire for foods high in sodium (FFQ-FHS) and test its reproducibility. The results showed that the FFQ-FHS is not valid for assessing sodium intake, although it is reproducible. The 24hR method is more accurate for measuring daily sodium intake.

Summary: Vitamin D has received continuous attention in the field of reproductive health, with a higher level of research in North America. Multidisciplinary intersection has contributed to in-depth exploration in this field. The impact of maternal vitamin D levels on fetal lipid metabolism and the prediction of fertility using vitamin D-related markers may be hotspots for research.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence of vitamin D insufficiency among young Qatari women and developed a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) to assess the vitamin D intake in their diet. The results showed that the FFQ reported higher vitamin D intakes compared to the 24-hour food recall (24HFR), indicating moderate agreement between the two methods.

Summary: Women working in agriculture had higher bioavailable 25(OH)D levels and lower VDBP concentrations compared to the control group, leading to lower femur BMD and higher risk of osteoporosis among agricultural workers. Bioavailable 25(OH)D and VDBP were found to be associated with BMD, with VDBP potentially playing a role in the lower BMD values observed in the agricultural group. Measurement of VDBP concentration may serve as a simple and non-invasive method for assessing bone health status.

Summary: Maintaining optimal vitamin D levels after breast cancer treatment is important for reducing recurrence risk and extending survival time. A study in Polish women after mastectomy found that vitamin D deficiency was more common in this group compared to the general population, highlighting the importance of vitamin D supplementation and monitoring. By providing recommendations and increasing awareness about vitamin D supplementation, there was a significant increase in the number of patients who started supplementing and the average dose of supplements.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis estimated the pooled prevalence of folate deficiency (FD) among women of reproductive age in Ethiopia. The results showed that FD is a significant public health issue among women of reproductive age in Ethiopia. It is recommended to promote the consumption of folate-rich foods, strengthen folic acid supplementation and adherence, and swiftly implement mandatory folic acid fortification.

Summary: Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent among young Korean women. This study aimed to determine the optimal vitamin D intake level for maintaining adequate serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) levels in young Korean women throughout different seasons. The study identified seasonal factors influencing 25(OH)D levels, calculated the necessary vitamin D intake for sufficient levels, and analyzed the relationship between 25(OH)D and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) levels. The results showed that 25(OH)D levels were higher in summertime compared to wintertime, and an increase in vitamin D intake led to a corresponding increase in 25(OH)D levels. The study suggests that increasing UV irradiation time in summertime and consuming vitamin D supplements and foods throughout the year is beneficial for maintaining sufficient levels of 25(OH)D in young Korean women.

Summary: The study in Serbia assessed exposure and risk of Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) in milk and milk-based food for children. AFM1 was most commonly found in pasteurized and UHT milk, with higher exposure risk for children aged 1-3 due to consumption habits. However, the overall risk was considered low with MOE values above 10,000, indicating no significant health concerns. Regular monitoring and prevention of AFM1 contamination in milk are recommended to reduce risk, especially for children.
