Summary: The study explored the potential and reliability of the real-time TaqMan analysis method for detecting and distinguishing nVarIBDV genotype from non-nVarIBDV, especially live vaccine strains. This method accurately identified nVarIBDV and non-nVarIBDV strains, without cross-reactivity with other viruses. The one-step real-time TaqMan RT-PCR method provides a rapid, sensitive, specific, and simple approach for detecting nVarIBDV infections and is a useful clinical diagnostic tool.

Summary: Infectious precocity virus (IPV), a recently reported RNA virus, has been associated with the sexual precocity of Mac-robrachium rosenbergii, causing economic losses in the prawn farming industry. A semiquantitative approach for diagnosing the associated syndrome?iron prawn syndrome (IPS)?was developed based on clinical signs, and a TaqMan probe-based reverse-transcription quantitative PCR (TaqMan-RT-qPCR) method was established to detect and quantify IPV. The method showed high sensitivity and specificity compared to other PCR methods, and revealed the neurotropism of the virus in M. rosenbergii.

Summary: This study successfully developed a TaqMan-based real-time quantitative RT-PCR assay for efficient detection of bovine rhinitis B virus (BRBV), with high specificity and reproducibility. Testing of samples from cattle in China in recent years revealed a certain percentage of BRBV-positive animals, providing valuable data for epidemiological investigations of this virus.

Summary: A new duplex TaqMan RT-qPCR method for rapid identification and detection of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) and Getah virus (GETV) was established in this study. The method showed high sensitivity, extreme specificity, and excellent repeatability, and could be completed in a short time. It provided an effective tool for the detection and differentiation of JEV and GETV.

Summary: Lassa virus is an important human pathogen causing hemorrhagic fever in West Africa, with an increasing risk of imported cases to other countries due to increased traveling. The high nucleotide diversity of the virus strains complicates the development of diagnostic assays. The GPC RT-PCR/2007 assay and the Mabsky kit showed good sensitivity and specificity for detecting most LASV strains.

Summary: Apples in Korea are grown using a high-density plantation system but have a high virus infection rate. To control plant virus and viroid, a real-time PCR assay was developed in this study. The use of SYBR Green I dye for detection was found to be faster and more efficient, suitable for reliable diagnosis and quantification in quarantine fields.

Summary: In this study, cellular metabolic engineering was performed on host cells to improve the production capacity of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) vaccine. Glutathione metabolism was found to play an important role in the propagation of IBDV in DF-1 cells. The recombinant GSS-M cell line was identified as having the optimal regulatory effect, resulting in a 7.19 ± 0.93-fold increase in IBDV titer, and enhancing the ability of host cells to resist oxidative stress caused by IBDV infection.

Summary: A sensitive and robust TaqMan PCR method for detecting IHHNV in three commercially important shrimp species was developed and compared with other published methods. Multiple primer/probe sets, including qIH-Fw/qIH-Rv and 3144F/3232R, are recommended for the detection of IHHNV. These findings are valuable for large-scale screening of shrimp using a TaqMan real-time PCR assay.
