Summary: This study developed and validated a multiplex immunoassay (MIA) for the simultaneous estimation of IgG antibodies against pertussis toxin, filamentous hemagglutinin, pertactin, diphtheria toxoid, and tetanus toxoid. The MIA was calibrated using WHO reference standards and complied with US FDA, EMA, and ICH M10 guidelines. It showed good agreement with commercial ELISA assays and a positive correlation with toxin neutralization assays for pertussis and diphtheria.

Summary: Cross-sectional serologic profiles measured with a high-throughput multiplex bead assay can accurately identify individuals infected with pandemic Vibrio cholerae O1, allowing for estimates of seroincidence. This scalable cholera serosurveillance tool provides a new avenue for understanding the epidemiology of cholera, identifying priority areas for prevention/control efforts, and tracking progress in the fight against this ancient disease.

Summary: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has led to the development and validation of multiple serology tests with varying performance. We have developed and validated a Luminex bead-based multiplex serology assay that can simultaneously detect antibodies against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants and other coronaviruses, with high sensitivity and specificity. This serology assay is important for assessing SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccine immune responses.

Summary: This study found that CCL21 is expressed in epithelial lung tissue from SSc patients with PAH, and circulates as a truncated protein. Although anti-CCL21 antibodies exist in SSc patients, they do not appear to affect serum CCL21 levels.

Summary: Carbohydrate-protein conjugates have diverse applications, from vaccines to high-throughput assays. A process combining chemoenzymatic synthesis, squarate linker conjugation, and neoglycoprotein immobilization on fluorescent magnetic beads was developed for a suspension multiplex array platform. This platform allowed for analysis of glycan and GBP interactions, providing useful insights into human galectins' multivalent glycan-binding properties.

Summary: The Direct Strip PCR test offers rapid and accurate detection of infectious pathogens causing uveitis. It shows high concordance with qPCR results, even when used by beginners, indicating its reliability for clinical use. Additionally, it can be used for intraoperative diagnosis, improving the prognosis of infectious diseases.

Summary: This study demonstrates the use of a customizable multiplexed assay based on structural and nonstructural enterovirus proteins to study antibody responses in a cohort of 58 children from birth to 3 years of age. The study reveals that declining maternal antibody levels can obscure the serological detection of enteroviruses before the age of six months and highlights the potential of antibody responses to nonstructural enterovirus proteins as interesting targets for serodiagnosis.

Summary: Babesia duncani is the causative agent of babesiosis in the western United States. The diagnostic test of choice for detection of B. duncani-specific antibodies is the indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) assay, which has limitations in interpretation. A proteomics approach was employed to identify candidate immunodiagnostic antigens, resulting in two antigens with high sensitivities and specificities for detecting B. duncani-specific antibodies.

Summary: The genetic information in DNA is crucial, and the identification of selective DNA sequences is essential in biological studies. Various authentication techniques, including PCR assays, nanotechnology-based biosensors, and microarray devices, have evolved to trace and detect different DNA targets. While detecting single DNA is relatively straightforward, the innovation of multiple platforms is required to identify hundreds or even thousands of DNA targets in a cost-effective and time-saving manner. This review provides an up-to-date documentary of DNA techniques for species identification in the food chain, discussing current knowledge, limitations, opportunities, and hurdles.
