Summary: This study investigated the different effects of absorbable gelatin sponge (AGS) and non-absorbable polyvinyl alcohol particles (PVA) on liver tissue. The AGS group showed improvement compared to the PVA group at around 1 week after embolization, and all indicators were significantly different until day 21. Histopathological examination revealed better repair of hepatocytes and the biliary system in the AGS group, while the PVA group exhibited more severe necrosis around the embolization site. The western blotting results demonstrated gradual repair of hepatocytes in the AGS group compared to the PVA group.

Summary: We report a case of a large and hypervascular orbital solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) that was successfully embolized with 500-700 μm tris-acryl gelatin microspheres (TAGM) before surgery. No complications, tumor recurrence, or metastasis were observed during the 42-month postoperative follow-up.

Summary: This review describes minimally invasive therapies (MITs) available for benign prostatic obstruction (BPO), including prostatic artery embolization, water vapor thermal therapy (Rezum(R)), prostatic urethral lift, iTIND (R) (temporary implantable device), and aquablation (Aquabeam (R)). The focus is on the technique description, level of evidence, and advantages over conventional surgical options.

Summary: This study aimed to develop and validate a tool for predicting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in neonates hospitalized in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). Through a study of neonates admitted to a maternity hospital NICU in Natal, Brazil, five independent risk factors for ADR were identified.

Summary: This study aims to characterize adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in neonates in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), including causative drugs, temporal profile, and associated factors. The results showed that ADRs are very common in the NICU, with tachycardia and hyperthermia predominant in the first week of hospitalization and polyuria and hypokalemia increasing significantly after the third week.

Summary: Prostatic artery embolization (PAE) provides durable long-term relief of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), with significant improvements in symptom scores and quality of life, increased urinary flow rate, and reduced residual urine volume. During follow-up, approximately one-third of patients required additional prostatic medication, with re-intervention rates reaching 20% within 5 years and 30%-60% beyond 5 years.
