Summary: The selection of organic cooling mediums in injection cooling significantly affects the cooling effect, while most research focuses on water. The evaporation of organic cooling mediums such as ethanol can assist combustion, but research on their cooling effect is relatively lacking. Tests on organic working fluids show that the evaporation and cooling effect of ethanol solutions improve with increased concentration. Not all organic cooling mediums bring good temperature drop and evaporation effects. Higher airflow temperature enhances the cooling effect of working mediums, while the liquid-gas ratio has almost no influence on temperature drop.

Summary: The adhesion of surfactant molecules on microplastics surfaces is influenced by the surface structure of the microplastics. This study aimed to investigate the migration of different microplastics under surfactant action. The results showed that the transport ability of microplastics followed the order of PTFE > PMMA > PE > PS > PP.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of rectifier blockages on flow rate measurement during shale gas extraction, finding that blockages were more likely to occur within a certain velocity range. Experimental verification led to the proposal of increasing the straight pipe length to restore flow field stability, providing a reference for setting the distance between the rectifier and the flowmeter.

Summary: Two series of rolling-sliding tests were conducted to study the influence of third mediums on rail corrugation. The tests showed that third mediums significantly affected the formation and evolution of rail corrugation. The use of third mediums alleviated the damage to rail rollers and reduced the formation and amplitude of rail corrugation.

Summary: The morphology of interfacial nanobubbles (INBs) on different hydrophobic surfaces was investigated using TIRF and AFM. The interaction between particles in the presence and absence of INBs was measured using a hydrophobic AFM colloid cantilever. The results show that the formation of INBs is closely related to the hydrophobicity of the substrates, and the size of INBs is positively correlated with the magnitude and range of the hydrophobic interaction force between particles.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of coupling medium on the performance of rock blasting. The results showed that different coupling mediums have different effects on the damage of specimens. Numerical simulations indicated that the characteristics of the coupling medium affect the propagation of blast load and the damage to the specimens. Corn starch suspension exhibited a beneficial buffering role, while silica dioxide suspension demonstrated better stress wave propagation ability.

Summary: This study investigates the hydrodynamic drag force on a spherical particle near-wall in shear flow using optical tweezers and microfluidics. By applying simple shear flow in a microfluidic channel at different flow rates, the hydrodynamic drag force exerted on the particle is detected from its displacement. The results show that the presence of a wall increases the drag correction factor, leading to a higher hydrodynamic drag force coefficient as the distance from the wall decreases.

Summary: This study successfully removed microcystis aeruginosa in lakes and reservoirs by modifying chitosan as amphiphilic material and using it as a bubble modifier. The modified chitosan showed improved water solubility but decreased thermal stability. Butyl-N-2 hydroxypropyl trimethyl chitosan ammonium chloride was the most effective modifier with an algae removal ratio of 93.47% at a dosage of 1.0 mg/L. The presence of algal organic matter enhanced the overall effect of algae removal, and electrostatic attraction was the primary adhesion mechanism.

Summary: In this study, fluorinated amorphous carbon films with different microstructures were prepared using bipolar-type plasma-based ion implantation and deposition method. The results showed that increasing the negative bias voltage led to a decrease in film density and promotion of graphitization, which also influenced the relative humidity in ambient air. Furthermore, regardless of the microstructure and relative humidity, higher negative bias voltage during film deposition resulted in lower friction coefficient.

Summary: The indoor environment is where people spend most of their time, making it crucial to assess exposure to particulate matter (PM) to determine potential health effects. This study investigated PM number concentrations, deposition in the respiratory tract, and inhalation doses for various indoor microenvironments. Results showed that physical exertion in the gymnasium played a significant role in mass deposition despite lower particle concentrations compared to other microenvironments.

Summary: This study investigated the hydraulic connection between river water and groundwater using sandbox experiments, and found that as the moisture of the sand decreased, the water level declined and the hydraulic connection was gradually lost. The study also discovered that the thickness of the inverted saturation zone was not only related to the depth of the river, but also affected by various physical parameters of the aquifer.
