Summary: This study aimed to assess the relationship between GDF-15 concentration on admission and the occurrence of the no-reflow phenomenon. The results showed a negative correlation between GDF-15 concentration and TIMI flow after PCI. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified higher age, GDF-15 concentration > 1503 pg/mL, lower systolic blood pressure, and higher troponin I concentration on admission as risk factors for no-reflow.

Summary: This study analyzed the characteristics of RSTD and its relationship with ST-segment elevation in STEMI patients. The results suggest that RSTD may be attributed to a weakened or absent action potential in the negative electrode of the lead, while the action potential in the positive electrode is not completely offset.

Summary: This study investigated the predictive value of red blood-cell distribution width (RDW) on no-reflow phenomenon (NRP) in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. The results showed that patients with high RDW had a higher likelihood of developing NRP. In patients with diabetes, RDW was found to be an independent predictor of NRP.

Summary: Among patients with resuscitated out-of-hospital cardiac arrest without ST-segment elevation, the immediate angiography strategy did not provide any benefit over a delayed or selective strategy in terms of the 30-day risk of death from any cause.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, management, and outcomes of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Results showed that patients with STEMI after TAVR had longer door-to-balloon times and a higher PCI failure rate, leading to poorer outcomes attributed to coronary access issues specific to the TAVR population.

Summary: This study compared the efficacy and safety of short- and long-term GPI infusion in patients with STEMI and the no-/slow-reflow phenomenon, and found that prolonging the duration of GPI may not significantly improve the clinical outcome in real-world patients.

Summary: Prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) for 12 months or more can reduce the risk of recurrent myocardial infarction or stent thrombosis regardless of the type of myocardial infarction. However, it also increases the risk of bleeding.

Summary: Analysis of administrative databases suggests a higher incidence of cancer among individuals who experienced a myocardial infarction, especially within the first 6 months. However, it remains unclear whether this is due to a biological link or the detection of pre-symptomatic cancers and shared risk factors. A study comparing the cancer incidence between thrombotic ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction patients and the general population found no significant difference over a 5-year follow-up, but a higher incidence was observed in the first 3 months after the myocardial infarction.

Summary: This study compared cardiovascular magnetic resonance-derived left ventricular function, strain, and infarct size characteristics in patients with transient ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (TSTEMI), ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), and non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). The results showed that TSTEMI patients had better LV function and smaller infarct size compared to STEMI patients, and their characteristics were more similar to NSTEMI patients.

Summary: The study found that in STEMI patients, serum levels of Phe were significantly higher near the culprit lesion compared to the aortic root, with lower concentration ratios of p-Tyr/Phe and m-Tyr/Phe near the lesion. However, there were no significant differences in serum levels of Phe and Tyr isomers between the aortic root and distal to the culprit lesion in NSTEMI patients.

Summary: Using a new-generation drug-eluting stent, the study compared the 2-year clinical outcomes of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and non-DM concomitant with a non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention. The results showed higher non-CD rates in patients with DM and higher CD rates in patients without DM in the NSTEMI group.
