Summary: The study revealed that bases containing metal cations follow the metal cation-assisted (MCA) mechanism, while organic bases without metal cations follow the ion pair-assisted (IPA) mechanism. Bases with metal cations showed higher catalytic efficiency compared to bases without metal cations, indicating the important role of metal cations in the reaction.

Summary: This study investigates the structural changes and gas adsorption mechanisms of a MOF under different gas pressures using single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The results show that alkane transport through seemingly nonporous systems is facilitated by a turnstile mechanism, and inflections in the adsorption isotherms are attributed to gate-opening without the creation of new accessible space.

Summary: In this study, a general method for the synthesis of unsymmetric diarylmethanes from (hetero)aryl methylhalides and Sb-aryl stibines is described. The protocol has a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. Gram-scale synthesis of drug molecules and their derivatives was efficiently achieved using this method.

Summary: In this study, an efficient copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of terminal alkynes with chlorostibine 1a was described, which can synthesize a variety of Sb-alkynyl stibines. The protocol exhibited good functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope, and the obtained Sb-alkynyl stibines were utilized as effective coupling partners for the preparation of 1,2,3-triazoles. The catalytic mechanism was also proposed.

Summary: The reaction between 2-methoxyphenyllithium and SbCl3 produces tris(2-methoxyphenyl)antimony. Its further treatment with equimolar amount of I-2 leads to stihorane, while heating with 2 equivalents of I-2 results in iodotris(2-methoxyphenyl)stibonium triiodide featuring halogen bonding in solid state.

Summary: In this study, the relative energies among three rotamers of a substituted phenyltriptycene were investigated by exploiting the CH/pi-interaction between a peri-hydrogen and phenyl. The results obtained should facilitate the design of novel molecular switches and/or molecular rotors.

Summary: In the presence of PR3 organocatalyst, the zwitterionic intermediate acts as a base to catalyze the formation of hydrospirophosphorane, which then reacts with electron-deficient alkenes to form spirophosphoranes with a pentacoordinate P-C bond. This reaction represents a novel and efficient method for the hydrophosphorylation of alkenes under organocatalysis.

Summary: Aperiodic crystals possess long-range order without translational symmetry and can recover periodicity in higher dimensional spaces. This paper focuses on the phase transitions within crystallographic superspaces and presents a comprehensive study of a prototype composite host-guest family of materials.

Summary: A series of nano-flower sheet-like alumina spheres were designed and synthesized to stabilize Ru-CeOx catalysts for the catalytic total oxidation of propane. The material exhibited low conversion temperature and activation energy, as well as superior resistance to water, sulfur, and carbon dioxide, along with good recycling performance. The excellent catalytic performance is attributed to the rich unsaturated pentacoordinate Al3+ sites on the NF-Al2O3 material, which anchor the Ru-CeOx active species and promote dispersion and stability.

Summary: Controlling the movement of CBPQT(4+) ring is essential for the full potential utilization of artificial molecular machines. In this study, two isomeric tri-stable [2]rotaxanes incorporating TTF and MPTTF units were synthesized to measure the energy barriers during the movement of CBPQT(4+) ring. By strategically exchanging thiomethyl barriers with thioethyl groups, the movement of CBPQT(4+) ring in the synthesized compounds can be controlled to occur in only one direction. Cyclic voltammetry and H-1 NMR spectroscopy were used to investigate the switching mechanism. The results demonstrate the first successful induction of directional movement of CBPQT(4+) ring in molecular machines using a combination of TTF and MPTTF units with 90% efficiency.

Summary: This paper discusses two-dimensional cellular automata with rotation symmetry and number conservation. It is shown that if the number of states k is smaller than or equal to six, then each rotation-symmetric number-conserving cellular automaton is isomorphic to some k-ary one. However, an example of a seven-state rotation-symmetric number-conserving cellular automaton is provided in this paper, which demonstrates the importance of not only focusing on cellular automata with {0, 1, ..., k-1} as state sets.

Summary: In this study, two independent FRET assays were used to confirm that pre-translocation ribosomes without EF-G can undergo spontaneous intersubunit rotations between non-rotated and rotated conformations. The fraction of spontaneously fluctuating molecules changes depending on experimental conditions, highlighting the importance of using multiple FRET assays in studies of ribosome dynamics and emphasizing the role of thermally-driven large-scale ribosome rearrangements in translation.

Summary: This study developed a satellite-based data fusion approach to map crop rotation at field-scale and analyze the effects of environmental factors on crop yields in southern Brazil. The results showed that continuous soybean planting and one-year soybean with one-year corn rotation were the most common crop rotation patterns in the region. The study also found that crop rotation had significant effects on soybean yields, with variations depending on the regions and years of rotation. Furthermore, climate conditions and soil organic carbon were identified as important factors influencing crop rotation. This study provides the first crop rotation map for the state of Rio Grande do Sul and serves as a foundation for similar databases in other states and countries.
