Summary: This study demonstrates the formation of high persistence length one-dimensional arrays templated by self-assembling peptide fibers with asymmetrically distributed charged surfaces. The asymmetric nature of the peptide fibers allows charge-dependent deposition of nanoparticles, resulting in the formation of 1D arrays with higher persistence lengths.

Summary: In this study, two compounds Cd12Ag32-1 and Cd12Ag32-2 were synthesized and structurally determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The selective adsorption of phosphine ligands caused by different types of thiol ligands was found. Additionally, Cd12Ag32-1 exhibited a unique stacking pattern in a superlattice with multiple inter-cluster channels. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the effect of mixed ligands on nanocluster formation and the correlation between structure and properties.

Summary: In this study, the controllable self-assembly of DNA-linked gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) for in vivo biomedical applications was achieved by using programmable DNA tetrahedral structures. Three different sizes of AuNPs (20nm, 10nm, and 5nm) were organized and positioned using this method. The density and arrangement of the satellite AuNPs around the core AuNPs were controlled by tuning the size and amount of DNA tetrahedron functionalized on the core AuNPs, resulting in strong electromagnetic field enhancement. With the conjugation of Raman molecules, strong surface-enhanced Raman scattering photoacoustic imaging signals were generated, allowing for the imaging of microRNA-21 and tumor tissues in vivo. This study provides an efficient strategy for building precision plasmonic superstructures in plasmonic-based bioanalysis and imaging.

Summary: DNA-modified nanoparticles are important in nanomedicine for DNA sensing, therapeutics, and self-assembly. Conjugating DNA to nanoparticle surfaces is limited and inefficient, but we demonstrate a new approach using electrostatic attraction between DNA tiles and nanoparticles. This approach allows control over DNA presentation and was successfully demonstrated using various nanoparticles. The versatility of this electrostatic DNA caging approach enables further applications in medicine and materials science.

Summary: The assembly of polyoxometalate clusters into layered structures, referred to as clusterphenes, has been reported. These 2D structures exhibit uniform hexagonal pores and in-plane electron delocalization properties. The resulting clusterphenes show improved stability and catalytic efficiency, thanks to the electron delocalization within the 2D layer.

Summary: A highly selective electrochemical sensing platform based on gold nanoparticles@three-dimensional carbonized eggshell fiber membrane (Au NPs@3D CEFM) was developed for non-enzymatic detection of rutin. The porous 3D connected-network CEFM with a pore size of similar to 5 mu m was used as a conductive platform, and the smaller-sized Au NPs were uniformly anchored on its surface. The Au NPs@3D CEFM/ITO electrode exhibited excellent sensitivity and a low detection limit for rutin in both standard solutions and actual biological samples.

Summary: This study describes the synthesis of multifunctional dendrimers with a cleavable disulfide linker and condensable triethoxysilyl groups, which are embedded in silsesquioxane networks. Treatment with dithiothreitol allows selective cleavage of the dendrimer's core, creating thiol functions within the pores. Impregnation with gold salts and reduction results in the formation of gold nanoparticles. The dendrimer generation affects the size of the nanoparticles, and surface functionalization controls the formation of clusters and nanoparticles.

Summary: In this study, a miRNA detection strategy based on the self-assembly of AuNPs induced by the hairpin probe-guided DNAzyme walker enzyme cleavage and walk was established. This strategy utilizes the continuous mechanical motion characteristics of DNAzyme walker to improve reaction efficiency and achieves ultra-sensitive detection using dynamic light scattering technology. It has also been successfully applied to analyze target miRNAs in cancer cell samples.
