Summary: Integrating radical species into non-cryogenic nanodevices is crucial for molecular electronics. This study successfully fabricates single-molecule devices incorporating a persistent radical and demonstrates the retention of open-shell character at room temperature. Electrochemical gating enables reduction to a closed-shell state, and bias-dependent alignment of open-shell resonances leads to electronically driven rectification.

Summary: A multi-species diffusion/heterogeneous reaction coupled problem in porous media involving a boundary layer problem is investigated. By utilizing a spectral approach, a macroscopic model is derived in the high Damkohler number regime, combining homogenization technique and spectral approach. However, this homogenized model cannot accurately represent the perturbation at the external boundary. To overcome this limitation, an improved model involving additional rapidly-decaying variables is proposed to capture the complex physics in the boundary layer. Numerical simulations validate the accuracy of the proposed correction method in both steady and transient states.

Summary: In this Letter, a microscopic stack-electrode model and its equivalent circuit are used to predict the cyclic voltammetry (CV) of electric double-layer formation in porous electrodes. It is found that the dimensionless combination of ωτ(n) governs the CV curves and capacitance. The model reproduces experimental CV curves with a single fit parameter and investigates the influence of pore size distribution on the charging dynamics to explain the experimental data.

Summary: In this study, we report the synthesis of a molecular multi-qubit model system with three weakly interacting spin 1/2 centers. By characterizing and separately addressing the individual spin qubits, we determine the strength of the inter-qubit dipolar interaction. Our findings suggest that this system could be utilized for EPR-based quantum information processing algorithms.

Summary: In this study, two strategies (intrinsic defects and simultaneous strain engineering) on the MoS2/graphene hybrid material were systematically investigated to enhance the HER activity. Results showed that four specific defects (V-S, V-S2, Mo-S2, V-MoS3) acted as the catalytic active site for the HER and exhibited superior electrocatalytic activity. Furthermore, the tuning of hydrogen adsorption through appropriate tensile strain was found to optimize and boost the HER activity.

Summary: This study examines the impact of chemical reactions on the double-diffusive convective motion in a non-Newtonian viscoelastic fluid saturated porous layer. Linear and nonlinear stability techniques are employed to determine the conditions for stationary and oscillatory convective motions and calculate the convective heat and mass transfers. The results show that oscillatory convection occurs only when the solute Rayleigh-Darcy number is negative and depends on other physical parameters. The range of solute Rayleigh-Darcy number for oscillatory convection decreases with increasing Kuvshiniski parameter and heat capacity ratio, while it increases with the chemical reacting parameter and Lewis number.
