Summary: This study revealed that CST1 promotes gastric cancer metastasis and progression by regulating GPX4 and inhibiting ferroptosis. High CST1 expression is associated with poor prognosis, and it inhibits ferroptosis by stabilizing GPX4 and reducing intracellular ROS levels, enhancing migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of gastric cancer cells. CST1 may serve as a new oncological marker and therapeutic target for gastric cancer metastasis.

Summary: This study reveals the important role of OCT4 in the progression of ovarian cancer. OCT4 promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells by influencing the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling axis and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) related proteins. Therefore, OCT4 could serve as a potential therapeutic target for ovarian cancer.

Summary: This study reveals the mechanism of how deubiquitinating enzyme USP3 promotes tumor progression and metastasis in gastric cancer. The downstream targets of USP3, COL9A3 and COL6A5, are identified using isobaric tags technique. The results show that USP3 interacts with and stabilizes COL9A3 and COL6A5 through deubiquitination, playing a crucial role in the oncogenic activity of USP3 both in vitro and in vivo.

Summary: This study demonstrated the oncogenic role of Ring finger protein 2 (RNF2) in colon cancer by promoting tumor growth, proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells. RNF2 interacted with and degraded interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4), leading to increased tumorigenicity. RNF2 may serve as a potential therapeutic target for colon cancer.

Summary: This study revealed that Lnc_ASNR is highly expressed in gastric cancer and promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by regulating the miR-519e-5p/FGFR2 pathway. Lnc_ASNR functions as a ceRNA targeting miR-519e-5p, and its effects are closely related to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in gastric cancer development.

Summary: The upregulation of miR-196b and downregulation of ECRG4 were observed in gastric cancer tissues and cells. Inhibition of miR-196b suppressed cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while ECRG4 was identified as a target of miR-196b. In vivo, miR-196b inhibition also led to decreased tumor volume and weight, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

Summary: DEAD-box RNA helicase 23 (DDX23) plays a key role in ovarian cancer, with its high expression predicting poor prognosis and silencing significantly inhibiting tumor growth and invasion. DDX23 regulates the mRNA processing of FOXM1, impacting the malignant progression of ovarian cancer. Additionally, DDX23 is transcriptionally activated by E2F1 and may be a potential target for precision therapy of ovarian cancer.

Summary: This study identifies abnormally expressed lncRNAs in bladder cancer, with a specific focus on the role of CASC9 in promoting bladder cancer cell growth and metastasis through regulation of miR-195-5p. The findings suggest that targeting the CASC9/miR-195-5p/TK1 axis could be a promising therapeutic strategy for bladder cancer treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the role of circKDM1B in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and found that its overexpression was associated with tumor stage and poor prognosis in HCC patients. Knockdown of circKDM1B suppressed cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and promoted apoptosis in HCC cells. It was discovered that circKDM1B acted as a ceRNA of miR-1322 to upregulate PRC1 expression. Overexpression of miR-1322 inhibited cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and promoted apoptosis, which was partly reversed by PRC1 overexpression. CircKDM1B knockdown inhibited tumor growth in vivo.

Summary: This study explores the expression and clinical significance of NRCAM in gastric cancer. It is found that NRCAM expression is lower in gastric cancer tissues compared to normal tissues, and patients with higher NRCAM expression have poorer prognosis. In vitro experiments show that overexpression of NRCAM promotes cell growth, migration, and infiltration while reducing cell apoptosis. Furthermore, upregulation of NRCAM decreases E-cadherin and increases vimentin and N-cadherin protein levels in gastric cancer cells.
