Summary: Continuous improvement is essential for industries to thrive in the competitive global market. This case study focuses on a manufacturing industry in Taiwan that faced rejection issues with their brushless motor product. By employing the DMAIC cycle, the industry was able to identify and address the root causes of rejection, leading to a decrease in rejection rate. Various tools, such as SIPOC diagrams, Critical to Quality analysis, Pareto diagrams, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA, were utilized to improve processes and achieve better quality products. The implementation of improvement solutions, including inspection method enhancements and supplier optimization, resulted in an improved Six Sigma level.

Summary: Six Sigma is a systematic and structured methodology for quality improvement, widely used by large and small firms in industrialized economies. However, its implementation in developing economies' Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is limited due to various barriers. This paper presents a framework incorporating Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tool for Six Sigma implementation in an MSME organization. The results show that despite limited resources, incorporating MCDM in Six Sigma significantly improves the firm's sigma level.

Summary: The authors discuss the application of Lean Six Sigma methodology to improve surgical pathways, resulting in sustainable improvements in patient outcomes and satisfaction. They describe the origin of Lean Six Sigma and its relevance to surgical care. The methodology's elements for redesigning surgical pathways include customer voice, co-design, system awareness, and continuous improvement. Successful implementation requires managerial support, quality education, and alignment with organizational strategy. Failure to recognize and enact key elements and lacking necessary conditions will hinder sustainable improvements.
