Summary: This study aimed to tailor a framework for intern training based on Kern's six-steps and provide methods to improve implementation. Problem identification and needs assessment were conducted to determine the deficiencies in knowledge and skills of interns. Educational strategies were developed, and evaluations showed improvement in knowledge and confidence after curriculum completion.

Summary: Studies have shown that learning surgical skills on low-fidelity models is as effective as learning on high-fidelity models. However, it is still unclear how low-fidelity simulation training affects skill retention and transfer in novice learners, especially for complex surgical tasks. This study examines the ability of complete novices to learn and transfer complex surgical skills from a low-fidelity model to a high-fidelity simulation after a delay.

Summary: This study aims to enhance feedback effectiveness between surgical residents and faculty by creating a feedback training curriculum. The results showed that after the feedback training, the percentage of residents who believed their faculty provided effective feedback increased. Although limited by sample size, improvements were likely seen in constructive feedback overall and quality feedback from senior residents.

Summary: This study explores the importance of skill development for undergraduate students and examines the use of badges to enhance students' recognition of skill development opportunities. The badges not only increase students' understanding of the purpose of learning tasks but also provide practical examples for job applications. Additionally, the badges encourage communication between staff and students, leading to a re-evaluation of teaching approaches.
