Summary: This paper presents optimizations introduced to the generative hardware architecture to increase throughputs and hardware efficiencies in H.265/HEVC video compression. The optimizations include processing multiple bypass-mode subseries in one clock cycle, buffering aggregated contributions to the codestream, reducing the number of contributions used to update the low register, and increasing the maximal one-clock-cycle renormalization shift of the low register. These optimizations result in an increased throughput from 18.37 to 37.42 symbols per clock cycle.

Summary: The problem of information security and copyright protection in video is increasingly prominent. The current video watermarking algorithm lacks strong anti-compression, resulting in a significant impact on the visual effect of video. This paper proposes a video watermarking algorithm based on H.264/AVC, which selects the appropriate chroma subblock based on the non-zero quantization coefficient and energy factor, and embeds the watermark into its DCT quantization coefficients using an optimized modulation to minimize the number of modifications. The algorithm shows good invisibility, anti-compression performance, and significant advantages compared to other similar methods.

Summary: This paper proposes an efficient mode decision algorithm based on gradient method to improve the compression efficiency of video coding and minimize video quality degradation. The algorithm includes edge detection using Prewitt filter, threshold testing for homogeneity, and Gaussian pulse modulation to reduce bit rate of compressed video. Experimental results show the algorithm outperforms existing fast intra-prediction mode decision algorithms in enhancing BDPSNR and reducing BDBR.

Summary: This paper proposes two no-reference video quality assessment models based on feature extraction and dimension adaptation. The models predict video quality scores by calculating spatio-temporal distortions and content characteristics, and transform frame-level quality scores into video-level quality scores using a multi-stage temporal pooling mechanism. Experimental evaluations on video quality databases show that the predicted scores have good correlation with subjective quality scores.

Summary: This paper proposes an improved bitstream-oriented encryption method based on chaotic encryption for real-time video confidential communication. A 4-D self-synchronous chaotic stream cipher algorithm is designed to enhance security, and an ARM-embedded remote real-time video confidential communication system is built for experimental verification. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme, with high efficiency and flexibility, can meet the requirements of security, real-time performance, and format compatibility simultaneously.

Summary: This study presents DeepPVCnet, a deep learning-based video compression network that achieves end-to-end prediction and compression based on multi-frame hypothesis, multi-scale structure, and temporal-context-adaptive entropy model. The incorporation of mode-selective framework and uni- and bi-directional predictive modes in rate-distortion minimization sense is a key feature. Additionally, the proposed temporal-context-adaptive entropy model utilizes temporally coherent context from reference frames, allowing for parallel computing and superior performance compared to conventional methods in an MS-SSIM perspective.

Summary: This paper proposes a solution to the problem of excessive video encoding time after encryption of a high-dimensional chaos encryption algorithm by selectively encrypting chaotic pseudo-random sequences generated by the integer dynamic cross-coupling tent mapping model with key syntax elements in video encoding. Experimental tests were conducted to analyze the effectiveness and security of the proposed algorithm, and the results show that it is effective and secure. The algorithm has low computational cost, does not affect the video compression ratio, and can resist edge detection attacks and substitution attacks, ensuring real-time and reliable video encryption transmission.

Summary: This paper proposes a fast algorithm for Versatile Video Coding (VVC) to reduce coding complexity from the aspects of mode selection and prediction terminating. The algorithm removes non-promising modes using adaptive mode pruning (AMP) and improves efficiency by sorting candidate modes with an ensemble decision strategy. It also selects an appropriate model through mode-dependent termination (MDT) to terminate unnecessary intra predictions.

Summary: Hybrid digital-analog transmission allows video information to be divided into two parts for better utilization of available bandwidth. A compression scheme is proposed in this study, which uses different subsampling in 3D blocks to reduce the utilized bandwidth. Various methods for subsampling and reconstruction are evaluated to find the best combination in terms of reconstruction quality and complexity. Results show that medium-quality reconstructions can be achieved at compression ratios of about 0.125-0.3 samples per pixel.
