Summary: There is a growing interest in the open innovation (OI) literature to focus on the project level and explore the impact of project characteristics for realizing OI. This study conducted a survey of 203 firms and their OI projects in the UK, and found a substitutional relationship between trust and the use of legal bonds. It also revealed that in incremental OI projects, trust is positively associated with the level of satisfaction, while in radical OI projects, high trust and strong legal bonds complement each other to enhance satisfaction.

Summary: Improving the cooperative governance of open innovation projects can promote the integration and coordinated development of different market systems. This study explores how companies choose and implement cooperative governance mechanisms, and finds that collaborative dependence promotes relationship governance but has no significant effect on contract control. Both relationship governance and contract control have positive effects on knowledge transfer and cooperative performance, and knowledge transfer mediates the relationship between governance mechanisms and performance. This conclusion enriches the understanding of cooperative governance mechanisms and has important implications for management research and open innovation project practice. It is also practically significant for helping the power industry achieve carbon neutrality.

Summary: This research focuses on the integration of risk governance mechanisms into traditional project governance in order to achieve sustainable development in PPP projects. By enriching the understanding of governance mechanisms, governance performance, and project sustainability, and constructing a structural equation model, the study shows that contractual governance mechanisms, relational governance mechanisms, and risk governance mechanisms have a positive impact on governance performance, which in turn positively affects project sustainability. The results provide new insights for improving project governance mechanisms and promoting sustainable development in PPP projects.

Summary: Building a green supply chain requires the participation of all partner firms, but the differences in size, situation, capabilities, and industries among partner firms make it challenging to encourage their involvement in green initiatives. The study found a positive relationship between governance mechanisms and GSCM performance, highlighting the importance of formal governance in process management and relational governance in knowledge-sharing for GSCM. The strategic insights from the study results demonstrate how the choice of governance mechanism impacts GSCM performance and a firm's competitiveness.
