Summary: By using methyl-substituted benzanilide containing organo-soluble polyimide resins, two colorless and transparent polyimide films with enhanced high-temperature dimensional stability were prepared. The films showed good solution-processability and high optical transparency.

Summary: The weight loss and damage development of satin weave and thin-ply carbon fiber-reinforced polyimide composites are studied during high temperature aging. Two distinct regions are identified in the weight loss measurements, and two different damage patterns are observed through microscopy. A mathematical model is proposed to explain the initial desorption stage.

Summary: The study systematically investigated the impact of introducing PA-terminated OAPS on the shape memory properties of polyimides, finding that it acted as both a plasticizer and a rigid cage structure, affecting the strain and shape recovery values of the resulting composite materials. The shape memory polyimide composites exhibited high strain and recovery values, along with multiple shape memory effects and cycle stability.

Summary: Orienting electron transport to suppress charge recombination is a challenging but attractive approach for efficient photocatalysis. In this study, crystalline linear conjugated polyimides were synthesized via condensation reactions for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2. Oriented electron transport was achieved using these crystalline polyimides integrated with electronic push-pull units. The sulfone-based polyimide showed excellent photocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction. This work provides a new example of photoreduction of CO2 and a strategy for developing efficient photocatalysts with oriented electron transport.

Summary: The supramolecular assembly of DNA conjugates with tetraphenylethylene (TPE) sticky ends into vesicular structures is studied in this research. The aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active TPE units are used to monitor the assembly process using fluorescence spectroscopy. The number of TPE modifications on the conjugates' overhangs influences the supramolecular assembly behavior, with a minimum of two TPE residues required for a well-defined assembly process. The designed DNA-based nanostructures offer customized functionalization for applications in DNA nanotechnology.

Summary: Electrochromic/electrofluorescence (EC/EFC) bifunctional polymer materials with electrochemically switchable colors and fluorescence intensities were designed and synthesized in this study. The introduction of tetraphenylethylene (TPE) structure effectively reduced the absorption in the ground state and induced aggregation-induced emission (AIE) by changing the conjugation type. The structure-property relationships of the six designed polyimides were investigated, showing good EC/EFC dual-switching properties and cyclic stability.

Summary: The dielectric properties of polyimide (PI) can be improved by introducing trifluoromethyl and forming a host-guest inclusion complex with crown ethers (CEs). In this study, low-dielectric PI films were prepared using three different bisphenol A-containing diamines and thermal imidization. The addition of crown ethers effectively reduced the high-frequency dielectric loss of the modified PI films. The dielectric properties of the composite films were significantly improved, making them potential substrates for high-frequency 5G communication.
