Summary: This paper examines the radical polymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) and N-tert-butylacrylamide (t-BuAAm) in water and ethanol solvents to demonstrate successful synthesis of commercially valuable copolymers. The experiments show that the product molar masses and composition remain stable under various operating conditions. Additionally, the experiments provide data on the influence of solvents on the polymerization rate and copolymer properties, and a previously developed model accurately describes the semi-batch operation.

Summary: A trace amount of Lewis base tert-butyl acrylate (TBA) is introduced to synergistically control the crystallization process and saturate surface dangling bonds in perovskite layer, leading to the formation of high-crystalline quality film and suppression of nonradiative recombination defects. The introduction of C = O and C = C functional groups in TBA promotes the diffusion of charge carriers in the perovskite layer, resulting in significantly increased open-circuit voltage and improved fill factor of TBAPSC. As a consequence, TBAPSC achieves a high power conversion efficiency with negligible hysteresis, making TBA additive a feasible and efficient method to improve perovskite crystalline quality for high-performance PSCs.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of solvent on the radical copolymerization propagation kinetics of MA and tBuAAm using the PLP-SEC technique. It is found that the copolymerization rate coefficients increase systematically with increasing MA content in the comonomer mixture, but fail to represent the data in systems with water content greater than 50%.

Summary: Coagulative nucleation in the copolymerization of methyl methacrylate-butyl acrylate (MMA-BA) is reported under monomer-starved conditions in latexes with high solid content and low surfactant concentrations. The use of semicontinuous emulsion heterophase polymerization (SEHP) allows the synthesis of latex with high colloidal stability. The study investigates the particle size, surfactant coverage area, particle coagulation rate, and other parameters during the copolymerization process.

Summary: A one-step dispersion copolymerization technique is used to fabricate biphasic particles with complex morphology. The study shows that the particle morphology can be transformed by washing the particles with water. The copolymerization process can be controlled by the solubility profile of the monomers, resulting in phase-separated particle morphology.

Summary: In this study, it was found that nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMP) using BlocBuilder MA under continuous flow reaction conditions led to higher conversions and smaller polydispersity index (D) values compared to batch reaction conditions. The addition of a small amount of acetol or malononitrile accelerated the NMP reaction without sacrificing the quality of the polymer. Flow reactors allowed for precise control of the NMP process initiated by BlocBuilder MA and the synthesis of di-block copolymers.

Summary: The nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization (NMP) of styrene and butyl acrylate using BlocBuilder MA under continuous flow reaction conditions showed higher conversions and smaller polydispersity index (D) values compared with batch reaction conditions. The addition of a small amount of acetol or malononitrile accelerated the NMP reaction without sacrificing D values. Flow reactors enable the highly controlled synthesis of styrene and butyl acrylate NMP reactions initiated by BlocBuilder MA (BB MA) with additives, and BA-St di-block copolymers were also synthesized.

Summary: The dynamic asymmetry between polyisoprene (PI3) and poly(4-tert-butyl)styrene (PtBS27) in a blend significantly affects its viscoelastic and dielectric properties. At low temperatures, PI3 showed a broad dielectric loss peak with a terminal relaxation frequency close to PtBS27, but this peak narrowed at higher temperatures. Molecular dynamics simulations confirmed the importance of dynamic concentration heterogeneity in PtBS27 for the relaxation of PI3.

Summary: Improving water-based polymer's properties using silicon compounds has gained significant attention. In this study, a novel siloxane-based crosslink agent was synthesized and used for emulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, and acrylic acid. The incorporation of the crosslinker led to increased particle size and decreased viscosity of the latexes, as well as improved electrostatic stability. The crosslinking agent also affected the decomposition temperature and residual weight fraction of the copolymer.

Summary: Numerical simulations showed that statistical copolymers with 1:1 BA/MMA composition have the highest contribution of alternating sequences, while batch ATRP of a 1:1 BA/MMA mixture generates gradient copolymers with diminished fraction of alternating sequences. A method for preparing statistical BA/MMA copolymers with the highest fraction of alternating sequences through normal ATRP copolymerization with MMA feeding was proposed to maximize the amount of alternating sequences in the copolymers.
