Summary: We fabricated vertical Nb/TiOx/Nb Josephson junctions in the shape of right-angled isosceles triangles of different sizes. The asymmetry behavior of the junctions is attributed to the asymmetric pinnings for Josephson vortex penetration at the edges of the triangle, in addition to the effect of current-induced magnetic self-fields. The ratchet effect in the junctions is more sensitive to temperatures far from T-c, demonstrating a larger temperature-regulating window compared to Abrikosov vortex ratchets.

Summary: Successful deposition of titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin films was achieved using atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge plasma. The control of deposition parameters, such as substrate heating temperature and oxygen content, was found to be crucial for obtaining thin films with desired properties. Additionally, nitrogen doping of the TiO2 films was successfully achieved by adding ammonia (NH3) to the working gas. The lowest bandgap of 3.22 eV was obtained under specific deposition conditions.

Summary: This study demonstrates the integrated modification of Na2Ti6O13 (NTO) using Nb-doping, leading to significantly improved cycling and low-temperature performance. Theoretical investigation suggests that Nb substitution enhances structural stability and reduces diffusion energy barrier. In situ experiments further confirm the robust spring effect of the Ti-O bond in NTO, which plays a key role in overcoming transport kinetics issues and low conductivity.

Summary: For the first time, mixed nickel pyrochlore of the Bi2NiTaNbO9 composition was synthesized through solid-phase reaction. The X-ray diffraction data confirmed the formation of a disordered pyrochlore structure. Doping with Nb(V) ions improved the microstructure of the sample. The thermal expansion coefficient of Bi2NiTaNbO9 was 6.0 x 10-6 degrees C-1 and doping with niobium had no significant effect on its thermal behavior and stability. Electrical properties were also investigated, with the sample exhibiting dielectric properties and a conduction activation energy of 1.34 eV.

Summary: In this study, a series of modified Li-rich cathode materials were successfully synthesized through Nb5+ doping strategy. Experimental results and theoretical calculations showed that the doped samples exhibited improved ion migration, structural stability, and electronic conductivity, while also enhancing Coulombic efficiency and rate capability. These findings are of great significance for the development of Fe-Mn based Li-rich cathode materials with excellent electrochemical properties.

Summary: In this study, chloroauric acid was used as a strong p-dopant for high-performance WSe2 monolayer transistors. By designing a suitable doping spacer length, a normally off, high-performance underlap top-gate device can be achieved without the need for additional gating in the contact and spacer regions.

Summary: Boron doping significantly extended the lifetime of Ni/BC catalysts by interacting with Ni and biochar support simultaneously. It reduced the gasification consumption rate of the biochar support by transforming K into more stable borates, inhibiting the desorption of CO and CO2, and forming B2O3 as an active site blocker. Additionally, boron doping also decreased coke deposition on the Ni particles.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the mechanical, structural, and magnetic properties of Nb-doped NiMnSn Heusler alloys. The results show that the modification of the structural, mechanical, and magnetic properties of the Ni50Mn37Sn13 alloy with Nb doping is sensitive to the atomic composition of the alloy. This finding suggests a promising approach to tailor specific properties for technological applications.

Summary: Element doping is an efficient strategy to enhance the stability and performance of LiNiO2-based materials. The synergistic effect of co-doped elements is crucial for material design. In this study, Mg co-doping with fixed Mn-doping was performed, demonstrating suppressed Li+/Ni2+ mixing and decreased crystal lattice volume change. This improves the electrochemical stability, capacity retention, and rate capability of the material.
