Summary: The kinetic assessments of cydohexene and pyridine hydrogenation on metallic Pd and Pt surfaces covered with chemisorbed sulfur species provide insight into the catalytic involvement of sulfur in H-addition events. The distribution of irreversible and reversible sulfur species on surfaces influences the hydrogenation reactivity towards pyridine under different conditions.

Summary: We perform computer simulations to study the escape dynamics of a self-propelled nanorod from confinements. Our results demonstrate that the persistent and directed motion of the nanorod is crucial for its escape. We quantify the escape dynamics using the radial probability density function and mean first escape time, and show that the activity of the nanorod leads to a bimodal radial probability density function, which is absent in passive nanorods.

Summary: The present study synthesized MIP compound from carbinol extract of Hybanthus Enneaspermus using a green synthesis method. Various analysis techniques were used to characterize the molecular structure and properties of MIP, and the results were validated through calculations and experiments. Molecular docking studies were also conducted to evaluate the compound's interaction with lung and kidney cancer-related receptors.

Summary: This paper compares the mesurands extracted from different TiO2 powders and discusses the influence of various parameters on the diameter values, illustrating the difficulties in (nano)particles characterization. SEM and SAXS are complementary techniques depending on the level of dimensional characterization required.

Summary: Compared to manipulating microparticles and controlling atomic motion, manipulating nanoscale objects is challenging due to the weaker force exerted by light on nanoparticles. However, optical manipulation using electronic resonance effects has enabled researchers to enhance the force on nanoparticles and measure their material properties by observing their motion.

Summary: Accurate measurement of mass diffusivity coefficient is crucial in optimizing the design and operation conditions of microfluidic devices and chemical reactions. This study presents an imaging method to investigate and quantify the interdiffusion of fluids in a microchannel under controlled temperatures. The experimental setup combines a thermally controlled microfluidic chip and infrared spectroscopy imaging technique.

Summary: By obtaining a composite structure of ultra-small TiO2 nanoparticles embedded in carbon nanosheets (TCNS) through processing under inert atmosphere, this study demonstrates the high reversible capacity and considerable cycling stability of TCNS as an anode for sodium-ion batteries. Ex-situ XRD and TEM investigations reveal the crystal distortion and sodium diffusion promotion mechanism in TCNS, providing insights into the reversible sodium storage process.

Summary: Photoelectrochemical solar fuel generation involves multiple elementary steps, and understanding the individual efficiency loss processes has been challenging. In this study, simultaneous measurements of transient photocurrent and transient reflectance spectroscopy were conducted to investigate the microscopic efficiency loss processes in water reduction on titanium dioxide-protected gallium phosphide photocathodes. The results provided insights into the key loss pathways and the factors limiting the overall efficiency of the photoelectrochemical system.

Summary: In this study, a novel approach to manipulating the swelling kinetics of hydrogels by engineering their diffusion-path architecture is proposed. The method enables precise control over the diffusion and transport processes within the hydrogel, resulting in enhanced swelling kinetics. Smart hydrogel actuators with reversible shape transformations can be fabricated by strategically designing the diffusion-path architecture of a 3D-printed hydrogel specimen.

Summary: It was found that TiO2 can significantly promote the degradation of DMP in the UV/chlorine system, with hydroxyl radicals and chlorine radicals being the main reactive species. The concentrations of HO center dot and Cl-center dot in the UV/chlorine/TiO2 system were several times to dozens of times higher than that in UV/chlorine, and their contributions to DMP degradation were 70.3% and 29.7%, respectively.

Summary: Research has shown that X-ray-induced CO conversion to CO2 can occur on oxide surfaces at cryogenic temperatures, with surface defects affecting the process. These findings suggest a potential occurrence in the interstellar medium and caution against X-ray-induced chemical reactions during oxide structural characterizations.
