Summary: Nanocomposites of graphene quantum dots modified gadolinium oxide particles were synthesized and the effects of graphene quantum dots amount and gadolinium oxide particle size on the properties of nanocomposites were investigated. The synthesized particles exhibited excellent fluorescence and magnetic properties, and the fluorescence property could be optimized by varying the ratio of graphene quantum dots to gadolinium oxide. Additionally, the relaxation property of the nanocomposites was improved by the larger gadolinium oxide particles. Therefore, these nanocomposites with magnetic and fluorescence characteristics have potential applications in biological imaging, drug targeting, and in-vivo diagnostic analysis.

Summary: A novel core-shell structure CoSnO3@carbon-caged NiCo2O4 nanobox (CNC) is rationally designed in this study to improve the performance of mixed transition metal oxides (MTMOs) as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The unique double hollow structure effectively relieves volume variation, improves conductivity, inhibits aggregations, and enhances ion/electron transfer rates. The rational design of CNC demonstrates improved Li+ storage performances and provides a novel strategy for applying MTMOs in LIBs as anode materials.
