External photoelectron emission spectra of typical ionic liquids were measured in the presence and absence of iodide. Threshold energies and quantum efficiencies of the photoelectron emission were estimated. From these values, the conduction band energy of electrons and the acceptor number of each liquid were estimated. Interactions between the ionic liquids and iodide are discussed on the basis of these results.
