Summary: Pentachloronitrobenzene/hydroxypropyl-γ-cyclodextrin inclusion complex nanofibers (PCNB/HPfiCDIC-NF) were prepared via polymer-free electrospinning to establish a rapidly dissolving water-based drug delivery system. The formation of PCNB/HPfiCD-IC enhanced the water solubility and thermal stability of PCNB. The antifungal activity of PCNB/HPfiCD-ICNF was 2.13 times higher than that of pure PCNB. The formulation of PCNB/HPfiCD-IC-NF could effectively improve the solvability, thermal stability, and antifungal activity of PCNB.

Summary: Molecular complexation with cyclodextrins (CDs) can modify the physicochemical properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients. In this study, co-ground products of terbinafine hydrochloride (TER) and two amorphous CD derivatives were prepared using the co-grinding method. Various analytical tools were used to analyze the samples, and in vitro characterization was performed. The results showed the formation of amorphous products through co-grinding, and the inclusion complex between TER and CDs was confirmed by FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy. In vitro characterization suggested improved dissolution properties for CDs and decreased diffusion at higher pH levels for HPBCD.

Summary: This study aims to increase the solubility and stability of lurasidone hydrochloride, a drug used for treating schizophrenia and bipolar depression, by forming higher-order inclusion complexes with hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin. The results show that the formation of inclusion complexes significantly increases the solubility of the drug, which is proportional to the inclusion ratio. Additionally, the drug's crystalline state is transformed into an amorphous state, enhancing its stability. Therefore, the formation of higher-order inclusion complexes is a successful strategy to improve the solubility and stability of lurasidone hydrochloride.
