Summary: The study showed that training providers in PCCP significantly increases their competency in delivering person-centered care, with a more pronounced effect observed at 18 months. Additionally, PCCP training can assist providers in promoting client recovery by targeting both philosophical changes and technical skills.

Summary: This study aimed to understand the experiences of care partners accessing patient information through electronic portals. The majority of care partners, who were often family members, considered access to electronic visit notes very important for promoting positive health behaviors. They suggested improvements to the portal design, such as separate logins for care partners and avoiding judgmental language in the notes.

Summary: OurNotes intervention, where patients and clinicians co-generate notes, is well received by both patients and providers, with most finding it beneficial. Patients find it easy to provide information and believe sending answers before the visit is a good idea, while clinicians typically incorporate the submissions into visit notes.

Summary: This study investigated the association between type of occupation and early antenatal care visits in sub-Saharan Africa. The findings revealed that women in different occupation categories had varying timing for antenatal care visits. Agricultural workers had lower rates of early antenatal care visits and require more attention and support.

Summary: In modern primary care practice, clinicians face challenges in managing increasing volumes of non-visit care (NVC). This can lead to cognitive overload, distraction, and dissatisfaction. To address this, a holistic approach to managing NVC systems is proposed, with emphasis on controlling inputs, defining workflows and roles, improving the electronic health record interface, and optimizing primary care teams. This framework has the potential to improve productivity, care quality, and clinician work experience.

Summary: This study evaluated whether an Emergency Department Information Exchange (EDIE) improved linkage to care for Medicaid enrollees with mental health conditions. The results showed that follow-up with any physician at 30 days increased slightly, although mental health-specific follow-up declined over time. Difference-in-differences estimates revealed no effect of EDIE on linkage to care after an ED visit. Medicaid beneficiaries with mental health needs and high utilization of the ED likely require additional support to increase timely and appropriate follow-up care.

Summary: The study aimed to demonstrate the spatial distribution and determinants of newborn care within 2 days of the postpartum period in Ethiopia. The results showed that the spatial distribution of newborn care was not random and the overall prevalence was below half per hundred participants. Factors significantly associated with newborn care included educational level, number of antenatal cares, place of delivery, and whether the child is a twin. Therefore, attention should be paid to the cold spot areas and these significant factors to improve newborn care in Ethiopia.

Summary: Accurate evaluation of fatigue crack using structural health monitoring methods is crucial for the life management of aircraft structures. However, the complex process of fatigue crack propagation and the various environmental and operational conditions make the distribution of damage index uncertain and heteroscedastic. This paper proposes a guided wave-based heteroscedastic Gaussian process method to improve the evaluation accuracy and validate it on an attachment lug fatigue test.

The findings revealed that most youth tested had rare gene variants of uncertain significance, and only a small percentage had gene variants previously identified as increasing the risk for obesity. Further research in larger cohorts is needed to understand how genetic variants influence non-syndromic obesity.

Summary: This prospective cohort study aimed to investigate the impact of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) on the health-related quality of life (HRQL) of infants from NICU hospitalization to one year post-discharge. The study found that lower HRQL during NICU stay was associated with earlier gestational age, postnatal corticosteroid usage, outborn status, and gastrostomy tube placement. Lower HRQL at 3 and 12 months post-discharge was associated with readmissions, home oxygen use, parent-reported difficulty breathing, lower developmental scores, and not playing with other children. Most parents reported similar or improved HRQL after discharge, but parents of infants with respiratory symptoms experienced less improvement. Efforts to improve parent HRQL should focus on respiratory symptoms and social isolation.

Summary: This study aims to determine if children with elbow flexion contracture (EFC) caused by brachial plexus birth injury (BPBI) are more likely to develop shoulder contracture and undergo surgical treatment. A retrospective review was conducted on children under 2 years old with BPBI who presented to a single children's hospital. The results showed that patients with EFC had reduced shoulder range of motion and higher odds of shoulder contracture and surgical treatment. Prompt referral to a BPBI specialty clinic is recommended for evaluation and potential surgery.
