Summary: The interprofessional team-based care (TBC) intervention can help decrease long-term systolic blood pressure among uncontrolled hypertensive patients, although there was no significant effect on blood pressure at 6 months of follow-up. At 12 months, the TBC group tended to have better control in systolic blood pressure but not in diastolic blood pressure.

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of early integration of interdisciplinary supportive care on overall survival in patients with metastatic EGC, showing that the integrated care group had longer overall survival and significant survival benefits. Further optimization and standardization of this approach are needed.

Summary: This study aimed to test the intervention of Managing Cancer Care: A Personal Guide (MCC-PT) in improving palliative care literacy and cancer self-management. The results showed that MCC-PT had a significant effect in late-stage cancer patients, and further research is needed to explore the relationship between cancer stage, race/ethnicity, and self-management outcomes.

Summary: This study aims to use a machine learning algorithm to accurately identify patients who may benefit from palliative care and reduce the time to receiving palliative care consultation. The intervention provides a pragmatic approach to delivering specialty palliative care, leading to high value care and improved outcomes for patients. Deploying an AI algorithm in clinical practice requires a complex process involving multiple teams with diverse skill sets, and clinical trials showing better outcomes are essential.

Summary: This single-site pilot randomized controlled trial assessed the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of an ACP video decision support tool for improving transplant-ineligible advanced liver disease patients' knowledge about and preferences for end-of-life care. The results showed that the tool was both feasible and highly acceptable to the patients, and it was effective in improving their knowledge and preferences for end-of-life care.

Summary: The study found that early palliative care (EPC) can improve the quality of life, satisfaction with care, and clinician-patient interactions in advanced cancer patients with high baseline symptom scores. Symptom severity may be an appropriate criterion to trigger early referrals to palliative care.

Summary: The study compared the effects of music therapy and mindfulness on patient distress and neuroendocrine and autonomic stress biomarkers, finding that music therapy was more effective in reducing distress. No differential effects were found between the two interventions, but both music therapy and mindfulness were associated with significant reductions in cortisol and mean heart rate. Future studies should continue to explore optimal stress biomarkers for psychosocial palliative care research.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of early palliative care on stress and quality of life in patients with advanced cancer. The results showed that the early palliative care intervention did not significantly improve patient distress or health-related quality of life. Therefore, patients may require more intensive early palliative care with continuous professional support to address their palliative needs early.

Summary: This pilot RCT demonstrated that an intensive, focused arm-hand BOOST program is feasible and safe in the sub-acute phase post stroke, with positive clinical meaningful effects on upper limb function, especially when delivered early after stroke. Significant differences between immediate and delayed groups were found after 4 weeks of training, but the differences diminished after 8 weeks.
