The intramolecularly coordinated organotin(IV) oxides [L(Ph)Sn(mu-O)](2) (1) and [L(Bu)Sn(mu-O)](2) (2) readily absorb CO2 yielding molecular organotin(IV) carbonates L(Ph)SnCO3 (3) and L(Bu) SnCO3 (4) with terminally bonded the carbonate moiety.
