Direct Displacement of Alkoxy Groups of Vinylogous Esters by Grignard Reagents

The direct displacement of alkoxy groups from the beta position of aromatic and unsaturated esters and ketones is described. The reaction is chemo- and regioselective, displaying wide substrate scope.
