Enzo Errichetti, Shamir Geller, Iris Zalaudek, Caterina Longo, Athanassios Kyrgidis, Bengu Nisa Akay, Vincenzo Piccolo, Patricia Myskowski, Paola Vitiello, Teresa Russo, Giuseppe Argenziano, Martyna Slawinska, Malgorzata Sokolowska-Wojdylo, Michal Sobjanek, Ruzica Jurakic Toncic, Jaka Rados, Daniela Ledic Drvar, Romana Ceovic, Grazyna Kaminska-Winciorek, Pedro Zaballos, Camilla Reggiani, Zorana Kremic, Sven Lanssens, Ayse Tulin Gulec, Alejandro Lobato-Berezo, Giovanni Damiani, Vincenzo Maione, Piergiacomo Calzavara-Pinton, Elena Sotiriou, Giuseppe Stinco, Zoe Apalla, Aimilios Lallas

Summary: This study describes the dermatoscopic features of nodular/plaque-type primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs) and investigates possible differences according to histologic subtypes. Orange structureless areas were identified as the strongest dermatoscopic predictor for PCLs, while unfocused linear vessels with branches and focal white structureless areas were associated with PCLs. Differences in the vascular pattern were also observed between B-cell and T-cell PCLs, as well as among B-cell PCL subtypes.

Clinical and dermatoscopic predictors of squamous cell carcinoma of the lips: a case-control, multicentric study

A. Lallas, G. Martinez, M. Arceu, A. Kyrgidis, K. Liopyris, G. Brancaccio, C. Longo, E. Errichetti, D. Sgouros, C. Papageorgiou, C. Fotiadou, S. Siskou, S. M. Manoli, E. Sotiriou, D. Ioannides, A. Katoulis, E. Lazaridou, V Todorovska, G. Argenziano, Z. Apalla

Summary: Clinical and dermatoscopic predictors can help differentiate squamous cell carcinoma of the lip from other lip lesions. White halos, ulceration, and polymorphic vessels are common features of lip squamous cell carcinoma.

Remodelling of the superficial vascular network of skin flaps in rats, following a vasodilatory cream application, before elevation

Glykeria Pantazi, Iraklis Evangelopoulos, Christos Evangelopoulos, Sofia Tilaveridou, Ioannis Iakovou, Athanassios Kyrgidis, Ioannis Tilaveridis

Summary: In this study, the researchers evaluated the use of a vasodilator substance (Iloprost(R) cream) as a pre-treatment for random pattern skin flaps to improve their viability. The results showed that pre-treatment with the cream increased blood flow in the flaps and improved their overall survival rate.

Vitiello, T. Russo, G. Argenziano, M. Sokolowska-Wojdylo, M. Sobjanek, J. Stoikovic-Filipovic, C. Longo, G. Pellacani, G. Stinco, A. Lallas

Summary: This study evaluated the dermoscopic morphology and dermoscopic-pathological correlations of classic MF stages and investigated the dermoscopic features of MF variants. The findings showed that different stages and variants of MF have distinct dermoscopic characteristics, and dermoscopy can provide a more precise characterization of MF and reveal clues suggestive of MF variants.

Riccardo Pampena, Vincenzo Piccolo, Marta Muscianese, Athanassios Kyrgidis, Michela Lai, Teresa Russo, Giulia Briatico, Eugenia Veronica Di Brizzi, Giovanni Cascone, Sebastiano Pellerone, Caterina Longo, Elvira Moscarella, Giuseppe Argenziano

Summary: This study systematically reviews the evidence on paediatric melanoma and highlights the heterogeneity in prognosis of different histological subtypes. The findings suggest that spitzoid melanomas have intermediate behavior between superficial spreading melanoma and nodular melanoma, with a high risk of nodal progression but low mortality.
