Summary: This longitudinal study explored the relationship between Quality of Life (QOL) and clinical variables in patients with Bipolar Disorder over an 8-year period. The results indicate that QoL is negatively impacted by depressive episodes but remains stable throughout the course of the disorder. Higher QoL scores may be associated with increased manic episodes, while lower scores may predict higher occurrence of depressive episodes. Comorbidities such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and substance abuse were found to be important predictors of QoL in BD patients.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the overall quality of life of Brazilian vegetarians, finding that adopting a vegetarian diet does not have negative effects on one's quality of life, with plant-based diets and longer duration of adoption leading to better results. Vegetarians showed differences in quality of life across various domains, with longer adoption and having close people also adopting vegetarian diets positively influencing quality of life.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the quality of life of COVID-19 positive patients after recovery in Bangladesh. Results showed that physical domain had the highest score, while females scored significantly lower than males in the psychological and social domains. Participants with chronic diseases had lower overall quality of life, and those over 45 years of age were less likely to have good physical health than younger participants. Employed individuals had higher quality of life than the unemployed.

Summary: This study aims to analyze the association between stigma faced by COVID-19 survivors and their mental health and quality of life. The research findings suggest that medium stigma is more closely related to quality of life and mental health than low stigma. Female survivors and those who work as laborers or entrepreneurs are less likely to experience stigma-related mental health issues.

Summary: Men with 21OHD appeared to rate their QoL as good, similar to healthy populations and higher compared to chronically ill patients. Genotype did not significantly influence QoL, but undertreatment and the use of dexamethasone or prednisone were associated with higher QoL scores.

Summary: Schistosomiasis significantly impacts the overall quality of life of affected individuals, especially those with hepatosplenic schistosomiasis (HS) and schistosomal myeloradiculopathy (SMR). Patients with HS and SMR have lower quality of life scores compared to healthy volunteers. Multivariate regression analysis indicates that HS and SMR patients have a higher risk of decreased quality of life.

Summary: This study explored the impact of self-stigma, coping style, and personal recovery orientation on the psychological quality of life (QOL) of adults with severe and enduring mental illness (SMI). The findings suggest that adaptive coping and psychological distress significantly contribute to psychological QOL, and that personal recovery orientation is positively associated with overall subjective QOL. Compared to the general population, participants with SMI had lower QOL in the psychological and social relationships domains.

Summary: This study found that excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) can affect the activities of daily living (ADL) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients through autonomic dysfunction. As the disease progresses, EDS and autonomic dysfunction worsen while ADL decreases in PD patients. The severity of EDS symptoms is positively associated with the severity of autonomic dysfunction symptoms, leading to a decrease in ADL. Autonomic dysfunction partially mediates the relationship between EDS and ADL, indicating a longitudinal mediation effect.

Summary: This study investigates the potential mediating role of rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD), depression, and anxiety in the association between dopaminergic replacement therapy (DRT) and impulse control disorders (ICDs) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. The results suggest that improvements in depression and RBD partially explain the aggravation of ICDs, while anxiety plays a mediating role. Therefore, monitoring changes in RBD, depression, and anxiety related to hyperdopaminergic status is crucial for preventing ICDs in PD patients.

Summary: Hand, foot and mouth disease is a common and burdensome infection in China, especially in the northern province of Shanxi. It primarily affects children under 5 years old, with a higher incidence in male patients. The disease shows a seasonal trend and is mainly caused by enteroviruses. The LSTM model can be useful in predicting the monthly incidence of HFMD, providing early warnings of epidemics.
