Summary: This study aimed to determine the reliability of women's recall of certain events during menarche and early reproductive years. It was found that women were able to consistently recall the age of menarche, physical activity level, cessation of period during early reproductive years, and birth control use. However, the recall reliability for cycle regularity and length was more inconsistent with advancing age.

Summary: The study found that early age at menarche is a risk factor for vasomotor menopausal symptoms, particularly for frequent symptoms, and that midlife BMI can modify this risk. Overweight and obese women have a higher risk of vasomotor symptoms related to early menarche compared to those of normal weight.

Summary: This study found that later maternal age at menarche was associated with impaired semen characteristics, lower testes volume, and altered levels of reproductive hormones in sons. However, earlier maternal age at menarche was not strongly associated with reproductive outcomes in sons. These findings may suggest a shared heritability or underlying epigenetic profile of reproductive health, but the exact mechanism remains unknown.

Summary: This study evaluated estrogen exposure measurement and the mutual effect of age at menarche and age at menopause on the risk of cardiovascular disease events. Reproductive lifespan was the most commonly used method for estrogen exposure measurement. The findings suggest that a shorter reproductive lifespan is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease events, particularly stroke.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between different lipid measures and long-term hospitalization-required incident fracture among Iranian men and women. The results showed a nonlinear association between non-HDL-C and LDL-C and incident fracture among Iranian women, with the second and fifth quintiles of non-HDL-C and the second quintile of LDL-C associated with about 50% lower risk of fracture.

Summary: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between age at menarche and hypertension and to evaluate the effect of different dietary patterns on this relationship. The study found that women with a history of menarche later than 14 years old had an increased risk of hypertension, especially in the middle-aged group. Additionally, the positive association between age at menarche and hypertension was observed in the low DASH score group.

Summary: There has been a decrease in the age at menarche (AAM) among women from 26 ethnicities in Yunnan Province, China, born between 1965 and 2001, with a secular trend towards a younger AAM. The fastest rate of decline was observed in the Bai ethnicity, and consistent declining trends were seen across various economic patterns. Significant differences in the declining trends in AAM were observed along rural/urban lines.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the lipid profiles in women with idiopathic hirsutism (IH) compared to those of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and healthy controls. The meta-analysis results showed that the levels of total cholesterol were slightly higher and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were slightly lower in women with IH compared to healthy controls. There were no significant differences in the levels of triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol between the study groups. The levels of lipid profiles were also not significantly different between women with IH and PCOS patients, except for triglyceride levels.

Summary: This study compared the prevalence, maternal and neonatal outcomes of a One-step with a Two-step approach for the screening and diagnosis of GDM. The results showed a significant difference in the diagnosis rate between the One-step and Two-step approach, but no significant difference in maternal and neonatal outcomes. These findings suggest caution should be exercised in adopting the One-step method worldwide.
