Summary: In this study, 18F-labeled procainamide (PCA) was synthesized and evaluated for its potential as a PET imaging agent for melanoma detection. The results showed that 18F-PCA exhibited high melanoma uptake and could be a promising tool for direct melanoma detection using PET imaging.

Summary: This study assessed multiple methods for determining an optimal cutoff for F-18-AZD4694 PET positivity, with good convergence among different approaches. The findings suggest that a threshold of 1.55 SUVR may have reliable discriminative accuracy for amyloid-beta positivity on PET imaging.

Summary: A 63-year-old man with a history of right plantar malignant melanoma developed multiple pulmonary metastases and a cardiac metastasis. F-18-FDG PET/CT was effective in detecting both pulmonary and cardiac metastases, as confirmed by dynamic myocardial perfusion MR.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the value of [F-18]-PFPN PET in prognostication and determine predictors of PFS and OS in melanoma patients. The results showed that [F-18]-PFPN PET parameters were superior to [F-18]-FDG PET in predicting death and disease progression. Patients with higher [F-18]-PFPN SUVmax had worse prognosis.

Summary: We report the F-18-FDG PET/CT findings of an internal thoracic vein tumor thrombus in a 76-year-old woman with melanoma. The restaging F-18-FDG PET/CT revealed disease progression with an internal thoracic vein tumor thrombus associated with sternal bone metastasis. Although cutaneous malignant melanoma can metastasize to any organ, direct tumor invasion of veins leading to tumor thrombus formation is an extremely rare complication.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the statistical power in detecting changes in brain glucose metabolism, amyloid, and tau deposition in Alzheimer's disease studies by using a reference tissue-based quantification approach. The results showed that the tracer-specific reference tissue improved the detection of PET SUVR changes, which is beneficial for early diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, and therapeutic response in Alzheimer's disease.

Summary: 18F-PFPN is a novel PET probe with high affinity and selectivity for melanin, showing elevated radiochemical yield and stability in vivo. In clinical studies, it outperformed traditional 18F-FDG PET in identifying primary MM and its distant spread, demonstrating higher uptake and ability to detect more metastases. Additionally, it showed clinical value in distinguishing false-positive lesions on 18F-FDG PET.

Summary: Legumain is overexpressed in several cancers and serves as an important biomarker for cancer diagnosis. In this study, a novel radioactive tracer [F-18]SF-AAN was designed and synthesized for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, targeting legumain. The tracer showed specificity in detecting legumain activity in vitro and in vivo, making it a promising tool for the diagnosis of legumain-related diseases.

Summary: Prostatic melanoma is a rare malignancy, mostly presenting as metastases rather than primary cases. Patients are often symptomatic, frequently with obstructive symptoms. The most reasonable therapeutic approach is radical surgery possibly followed by adjuvant therapy.

Summary: This study aimed to examine brain metabolic patterns on [F-18]Fluorodeoxyglucose ([F-18]FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) in breast cancer (BC), comparing patients with tension-type headache (TTH), migraine (MiG), and those without headache. The results showed that headache patients exhibited hypometabolism in specific brain regions before neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and headache patients with a good response to NAC showed hypermetabolic brain regions in the anterior medial frontal cortex.

Summary: We report a case of a 68-year-old woman with a tibial tumor and fatigue, which was diagnosed as a brown tumor secondary to severe primary hyperparathyroidism. F-18-fluorocholine PET/CT was used to localize the parathyroid adenoma and brown tumors, which were confirmed by unilateral neck exploration. After parathyroidectomy, the patient's symptoms improved with normalization of serum calcium and parathyroid hormone levels.
