Summary: This retrospective study assessed the impact of clinical and imaging features on the survival of 75 patients with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The results showed that tumor size, pre- and postoperative KPSI had a significant impact on survival rate.

Summary: A predictive model named DeepRA was developed to accurately predict the molecular subtype and patient overall survival of GBM using deep imaging features and machine learning technologies. Experiments showed that DeepRA outperformed traditional hand-crafted methods and regular convolutional neural networks.

Summary: In this study, two deep learning models were used to predict the transcriptional subtypes and prognosis of glioblastoma (GBM) cells from histology images. The results showed consistent associations between spatial cellular organization and patient prognosis. The study also confirmed that transcriptional heterogeneity and cell-state plasticity are key factors in the development of therapeutic resistance in GBM.

Summary: This study compared the performance of radiomics-based machine learning survival models in predicting the prognosis of GBM patients. The results showed that deep learning algorithms based on radiomics outperformed the traditional method in predicting the overall survival of GBM patients, with the DeepSurv model exhibiting the best predictive ability.

Summary: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a common, malignant brain tumor with a poor prognosis. Traditional treatments have limited success due to the tumor's infiltrating growth and resistance. The search for new therapies is crucial.

Summary: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive malignant tumor in the central nervous system. Immunotherapy has shown promising results in the treatment of GBM, but future developments will require an integrated approach with various treatment modalities and specific targeted therapies for the tumor microenvironment.

Summary: This study investigated whether elderly patients with glioblastoma benefit from the current standard of care and found that for elderly patients with KPS>70, gross total resection followed by radiation and temozolomide is associated with maximum overall survival.

Summary: Diosmin, a natural flavone glycoside, demonstrated inhibitory effects on GBM cell growth, migration, and invasion, as well as modulation of autophagy and cell cycle progression. It showed limited cytotoxicity towards astrocytes and holds potential for new GBM treatment therapies.

Summary: This study found that high expression of DKK3 in patients with GBM is associated with increased immunosuppressive response and decreased antitumoral immunity. High DKK3 expression is also correlated with poor prognosis and disease progression in GBM patients. The identification of navitoclax as an agent with potent activity against GBM cell lines with high DKK3 expression suggests that DKK3 could be a therapeutic target in GBM.

Summary: The study revealed a weak but statistically significant association between the extent of surgical resection and overall survival in patients with glioblastoma multiforme. However, the evidence level for this association is low and cannot establish a cause-and-effect relationship between these variables.

Summary: The clinical data on the survival benefits of post-operative bacterial infections in GBM patients are conflicting, with plausible explanations from immunobiology for the favorable effect. However, there is no definitive association between postoperative bacterial infection and prolonged survival in GBM patients according to available literature. The development of genetically modified bacteria as part of a multimodal regimen against GBM is supported by immunobiology literature.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the expression and biological activity of proNGF in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). The results showed that proNGF was significantly overexpressed in GBM and could stimulate cancer cell growth. Therefore, further investigations are needed to confirm the potential of proNGF as a clinical biomarker and therapeutic target.

Summary: This review summarizes recent advances in understanding the molecular mechanisms of therapeutic resistance of GBM, molecular characteristics of glioblastoma cells, and barriers in the brain that contribute to drug resistance. The progress in developing new targeted drugs for glioblastoma and drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood-brain tumor barrier (BBTB) is also discussed.

Summary: This study investigated the expression of genes in 10 canonical oncogenic signaling pathways and their relationship to mortality and disease progression in GBM patients. It identified 12 independent genes significantly associated with poor prognosis in GBM and suggested possible mechanisms affecting GBM prognosis.
