Summary: We synthesized fluorescent carbon nanoparticles (FC-NPs) with a size of 5.5 nm using a novel one-pot direct synthesis method. These FC-NPs could be produced at room temperature without calcination, minimizing waste and reducing synthesis and purification time. The FC-NPs exhibited strong fluorescence with emission peaks at around 450 nm and 555 nm, making them suitable for various applications including cell biomarkers in human, plant cell lines, and microbial cultures.

Summary: The encapsulation possibilities of two neuroprotective drugs, KYNA and SzR72, in BSA nanoparticles were studied to enhance their permeability through the blood-brain barrier. Various preparation conditions were tested, and it was found that successful encapsulation could only be achieved when the drugs were added to pre-prepared BSA nanoparticles. Adjusting the pH to 4.0 increased drug loading and caused significant structural changes, indicating drug insertion into the hydrophobic pockets of BSA. In vitro permeability tests showed three- to fourfold higher BBB penetration for encapsulated KYNA compared to the unformatted drug.

Summary: This study aimed to develop DOXO-coupled glycated BSA nanoparticles and improve their targeting capability towards GLUT5 transporters over-expressed on breast cancer cells. The synthesized nanoparticles had a spherical shape with a hydrodynamic diameter of approximately 60.74 nm and a zeta-potential of approximately -42.20 mV. Furthermore, the DOXO-coupled glycated BSA nanoparticles exhibited cytotoxicity towards both MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells. Overall, this research demonstrates the potential of drug-coupled glycated BSA nanoparticles as a targeted drug delivery platform for breast cancer therapy. Rating: 9/10.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized polymer-stabilized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using microfluidic devices, resulting in nanoparticles with improved homogeneity. By adjusting the concentrations of the silver precursor and reducing agent, the size and polydispersity of the nanoparticles can be controlled. The use of the block copolymer PEO-b-P2VP as a stabilizer led to larger nanoparticles compared to those stabilized by PVP.

Summary: This study investigates the interaction between hydrophilic and hydrophobic gold nanoparticles and human serum albumin protein at different pH values. The results show that hydrophobic GNPs accumulate at the air-water interface, while at the lipid-water interface, both hydrophobic and hydrophilic GNPs interact with the protein, causing ordering or disordering of interfacial water molecules.

Summary: This study focuses on the optimization of bovine serum albumin (BSA) nanoparticles as a carrier system for nasal drug delivery. The ratio of BSA and ethanol is found to play a critical role in the nanoparticle characteristics of BSA nanogel matrices (BSA-NGs). The BSA-NGs exhibit moderate mucoadhesive properties and viscosity suitable for nasal liquid preparations. The in vitro release studies show high drug release within 4 hours. BSA nanoparticle gelling matrices have the potential to improve nasal drug administration.

Summary: In this study, the binding interaction between silver nanoparticles and human serum albumin was investigated. The results showed that the interaction is driven by entropy, leading to conformational changes in the protein and a decrease in alpha-helix content. Additionally, the binding followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and fit the Freundlich model for multilayer adsorption.

Summary: Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) is a key regulator of human DNA metabolism and interacts with p15, playing a role in DNA replication and repair. A FRET-based assay was developed to analyze the PCNA-p15 interaction, which can be used for drug screening and studying mutation-induced changes in affinity. This assay has demonstrated its versatility in analyzing disease-associated PCNA variants.

Summary: Despite the variety of potential drug candidates in current drug discovery, the poor water-solubility of many substances poses a challenge for formulation. In this study, a new preparation process for nanocapsules consisting of a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) core and a human serum albumin (HSA) shell was developed. The nanocarrier system showed desirable physicochemical properties and stability, making it a suitable carrier for poorly water-soluble drug substances.
