Summary: The polymorphisms of the MIR31 host gene (MIR31HG) are associated with the risk of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SONFH) in the Chinese Han population. Specifically, the rs10965059 polymorphism is correlated with a reduced risk of SONFH in individuals over 40 years old, male populations, and those with bilateral SONFH.

Summary: This study found that single gene polymorphisms in A20 and IL-10 genes were not associated with the risk of periodontitis. NF-kappa B1 gene polymorphism indirectly affects susceptibility to periodontitis. The combined effect of anti-inflammatory gene polymorphisms (A20 and IL-10) correlated with the decreased risk of periodontitis.

Summary: The study found no association between the polymorphisms of TNF-alpha gene loci rs1799964, rs1800630, and rs769178 and allergic rhinitis (AR). However, the GT and GT+TT genotypes of rs769178 were found to increase the risk of AR compared to GG, and haplotypes C-G-A-T and C-G-C-T were associated with an increased risk of AR, while the C-G-C-G haplotype decreased the risk. Stratified and crossover analyses revealed significant associations between certain factors and the risk of AR.

Summary: LDLR rs1433099 polymorphism is not significantly associated with the risk of NAFLD, CVD, or NAFLD combined with CVD in the Chinese population. Carriers of the T allele of LDLR rs1433099 may have higher alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase levels in the CVD group.

Summary: This study investigated the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the OR51E1 gene and glioma susceptibility in the Chinese Han population. The results showed that polymorphisms rs10768148, rs7102992, and rs10500608 were associated with glioma risk in the overall sample. Stratified analyses based on gender and age revealed specific SNP-glioma associations. Additionally, synergistic and redundant relationships between certain SNPs were identified. Overall, this study provides a basis for assessing glioma risk-associated variants in the Chinese Han population.

Summary: Genetic variation in the MTHFR gene may contribute to the development of cerebral infarction. This study aimed to analyze the effect of MTHFR gene polymorphism on serum lipid and homocysteine levels among Chinese Han population with cerebral infarction. Results showed that the TT genotype and T allele frequencies were significantly higher among CI patients, and CT/TT carriers had higher homocysteine levels and lower HDL-C and ApoA-I levels.

Summary: This study explored the association between genetic polymorphisms of HIF1 alpha and obesity as well as obesity-related cytokines in the Han Chinese population. The results suggest that the C allele of rs2301104 may be a protective mutation against obesity, and the CC/CG genotypes of rs2301104 could be protective genotypes of obesity. Furthermore, subjects with CC/CG genotypes of rs2301104 had lower levels of IL-6, TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-8, and IL-10 than those with GG genotypes.

Summary: In a case-control study, the association between VDR gene polymorphism and susceptibility/severity of MG patients was investigated. There were no significant differences in allele and genotype frequencies between MG patients and healthy controls, as well as between different MG subgroups. However, significant differences were found in the frequencies of alleles and genotypes in rs731236 between adult non-thymoma AChRAb negative MG subgroup and the control group, as well as the adult non-thymoma AChRAb positive MG group in the comprehensive classification analysis. Further confirmation is needed to establish the possible association in the Chinese Han population.
