Summary: This study synthesized high-quality CdSe nano flakes with a hexagonal structure and networking structures using an elemental direct reaction method. The band gap of CdSe nano flakes was estimated to be approximately 2.44 eV using the Kubelka-Munk method. Multi-peak emissions were observed at room temperature under the excitation of 325 nm, which were attributed to the transition of band gap, selenium vacancies, interstitial cadmium, and surface defects associated with oxygen. Understanding and regulating the defect states are crucial for the application of CdSe nano flakes in optoelectronic devices.

Summary: Hexadeol/nano titanium dioxide (nano-TiO2) composite phase change materials (CPCM) with different nano-additives were synthesized. In this CPCM, 1-hexadeol (HD) was used as the phase change material (PCM) and nano-TiO2 was the matrix. Nano zinc oxide (nano-ZnO), nano silver (nano-Ag), and graphene nanoplates (GNP) were added as enhancing heat conduction additives. The optimal content of nano-TiO2 in CPCM was found to be 20 wt%. Various analyses confirmed the absence of chemical reactions in the CPCM. The CPCM6 with 4 wt% GNP exhibited the best thermal performance, with a fusion temperature of 49.38°C, fusion latent heat of 183.85 J/g, and heat conduction of 1.73 W/(m·K).

Summary: This study investigated the influence of hydrothermal synthesis conditions on nanocrystalline particles with a phase of variable composition. The BFWO phase structural parameters were found to be affected by the chemical composition, while the average crystallite size and aggregate size changed with different hydrothermal synthesis conditions. Furthermore, the Eg value was shown to decrease with an enrichment of BFWO composition in Bi and Fe, and a decrease in the volume fraction of crystallites in the surface layer of aggregates.

Summary: Two new coordination complexes were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, with compound 1 crystallizing in a monoclinic system and compound 2 belonging to the same system. Compound 1 features a central Mn(II) ion coordinated by four nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms, while compound 2 forms a two-dimensional layer structure with different 1,4-bdc ligands linking neighboring Co(II) atoms. Both compounds were also studied for their luminescence and thermal behaviors.

Summary: Two new Cd(II) coordination polymers were prepared using a hydrothermal method and characterized as one-dimensional and two-dimensional structures. The control of the coordination polymer structure was achieved by the selection of anions with different coordination modes, with weak hydrogen bonds and π···π interactions being the major driving forces in crystal packing. Fluorescence properties study in the solid-state showed weakened fluorescence peaks for both ligands and coordination polymers, attributed to ligand-centered fluorescence and partial quenching caused by π···π stacking and heavy atom effects.

Summary: Two new Hg(II) complexes and a new Cd(II) complex containing phenanthridine ligand were synthesized and characterized by various analytical techniques. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that complexes 1 and 2 have distorted tetrahedral geometries, while 3 has a slightly distorted one. Complex 1 exhibits stronger emission than 2, indicating the significant role of different coordinated counter anions in determining photoluminescence properties.

Summary: This study investigates the corrosion behaviors of RE2CrTaO7 and CMAS at high temperatures, and reveals that RE2CrTaO7 exhibits good corrosion resistance. The chemical stability and compactness of the crystal structure of Sm2CrTaO7 are better than those of Yb2CrTaO7, resulting in a better anti-corrosion effect for Sm2CrTaO7. After being corroded by CMAS for 10 hours, the thickness of the dissolution and reaction layer is 67.49 ??m for Yb2CrTaO7, while it is only 33.69 ??m for Sm2CrTaO7.

Summary: A novel direct double Z-scheme O-g-C3N4/ZnO/TiO2@halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized to degrade and mineralize diclofenac (DCF) using a simple and low-cost method. Under specific conditions, the O-g-C3N4/ZnO/TiO2@HNTs degraded DCF completely, showing 1.66 and 2.4 times higher efficiency compared to other photocatalysts. Additionally, the photocatalyst also exhibited a significant removal rate of DCF from urban wastewater along with the removal of total organic carbon (TOC).
