Mutations in the FBXO7 gene have been found to cause familial PD, and this study identified FBXO7 as an E3 ligase that negatively regulates SIRT7 stability. These findings suggest that FBXO7 may suppress the cytoprotective effects of SIRT7 during hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death.
