Summary: This study identified two Meteorin-like (Metrnl) homologues in grass carp, with CiMetrnl-a being constitutively expressed in healthy fish tissues and CiMetrnl-b transcripts being undetectable. CiMetrnl-a was inducible by certain pathogens and was able to up-regulate pro-inflammatory cytokines, potentially through the NF-kappa B dependent pathway.

Summary: The study revealed that microglia-derived TNF-α plays a crucial role in regulating the activation of Muller cells during retinal neurodegeneration. TNF-α led to increased expression of GFAP and proinflammatory factors in Muller cells, while anti-TNFR1 and NF-κB inhibitor could reverse these changes.

Summary: The study reveals that perturbation of the actin cytoskeleton is not sufficient to induce NF-kappa B activation and IL-6 secretion, but it reduces IL-6-induced activation of STAT3 in Hep3B cells. Additionally, IL-6 receptor proteolysis by ADAM10 is not dependent on the integrity of the actin cytoskeleton.

Summary: The study suggests that PHD3 may affect protein turnover in muscle tissue by mediating the inflammatory NF-kappa B signal pathway, and the increased expression of PHD3 in denervated muscle could be an important regulator in inducing muscle atrophy.

Summary: This study evaluated the suppressive effect of Wnt signaling inhibitor, Wnt-C59, in the kidneys, lungs, and livers of endotoxemic mice as a model of sepsis. Wnt-C59 improved survival rate, reduced proinflammatory cytokine levels and organ damage biomarkers, and inhibited Wnt/beta-catenin pathway, leading to suppression of NF-kappa B activity and cytokine upregulation in multiple organs, suggesting its potential use in treating sepsis-related multiple-organ dysfunction.

Summary: EGFR-mediated NF-kappa B activation requires the involvement of PKP2 and LUBAC. Upon EGF stimulation, EGFR recruits PKP2 to the plasma membrane, activating the LUBAC complex and leading to NF-kappa B activation, which is crucial for tumor cell proliferation and development.

Summary: The study found that TNF primarily activates transcription by increasing burst size while maintaining burst frequency for gene promoters with relatively high basal AcH3. When AcH3 is lower or decreased, the contribution of burst frequency to TNF activation increases. TNF positive feedback amplifies gene expression noise resulting from burst size-mediated transcription.

Summary: The study suggests that stimulation of non-canonical NF-kappa B signaling by LT beta R agonist may impact myogenic differentiation, muscle stem cell function, and regeneration of skeletal muscle. The findings indicate a significant direct crosstalk between canonical and non-canonical NF-kappa B signaling in myogenic differentiation.

Summary: Nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappa B) plays a crucial role in regulating intestinal inflammation and maintaining gut epithelial integrity. Its activation controls the expression of various factors and helps to reduce intestinal damage. IL17, on the other hand, enhances NF-kappa B activation and contributes to intestinal inflammation.

Summary: This study revealed that TSH stimulation activates NF-kappa B signaling, promoting differentiation of thyroid follicular cells through mechanisms involving protein kinase-mediated phosphorylation and acetylation modifications. The findings were replicated in primary cultures of NEMO-deficient mice thyrocytes, confirming the crucial role of NF-kappa B signaling in thyroid physiology.

Summary: Acute lung injury (ALI) is a common condition associated with the activation of the TLR4/NF-kappa B signaling pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome. Qinhuo Shanggan oral solution (QHSG) shows anti-inflammatory effects and improves ALI by modulating these pathways.

Summary: Cadmium exposure induced necrotic cell death and ion homeostasis imbalance in swine myocardium. Furthermore, Cd exposure increased LXA4 content, inhibited FPR2 expression, activated TGF-beta pathway, suppressed Nrf2 pathway, and activated NF-kappa B pathway. Cd exposure also increased the expressions of necroptosis-related genes.

Summary: Enrichment of human islets with syntaxin 4 improves beta-cell mass through NF-kappa B-dependent mechanism. STX4 suppresses cytokine-induced degradation of I kappa B beta, protecting islet beta-cells from cytokine-mediated dysfunction. This study proposes a novel pathway where STX4 regulates NF-kappa B signaling in beta-cells, preventing I kappa B beta degradation and suppressing chemokine expression.
