Summary: In this study, a multiscale fibril network morphology is constructed in a PBQx-TCl:PBDB-TF:eC9-2Cl-based system by regulating phase-transition kinetics. The ideal fibril network morphology enables superior charge transfer and transport processes, resulting in enhanced photon utilization efficiency. The optimized ternary cell achieves a high power conversion efficiency of 19.51% in a single-junction OPV cell. Furthermore, a tandem OPV cell with an excellent PCE of more than 20% is fabricated to increase solar photon absorption. This study provides guidance for constructing an ideal multiscale fibril network morphology and improving the photon utilization efficiency of OPV cells.

Summary: Hybrid ultramicroporous materials (HUMs) are modular materials composed of metal cations and combinations of inorganic and organic ligands, making them suitable for crystal engineering studies. They have practical significance due to their excellent gas separation performance in industrial gas mixtures. This study reports the design and synthesis of a sulfate-linked HUM and sets a benchmark for the difference in sorption heats between C2H2 and CO2 at low loadings.

Summary: The exact solution of the Lindblad equation with quadratic Hamiltonian and linear coupling operators in the chord representation, also known as the Fourier transform of the Wigner function, is derived. It is generalized for several degrees of freedom, providing an explicit expression for the reduced density operator of any subsystem and moments as derivatives of the evolving chord function. The Wigner function is obtained as the convolution of its classical evolution with a multidimensional Gaussian window, ensuring its positivity. The Glauber-Sundarshan P function also maintains positivity, guaranteeing separability of the components. The dissipation matrix for multiple degrees of freedom is introduced, governing the rate of contraction of the phase space volume of the argument of the Wigner function and expansion of the chord function. Examples of Markovian evolution of a triatomic molecule and an array of harmonic oscillators are discussed.

Summary: Although diazomethane is highly explosive, the phase-vanishing method using highly fluorinated solvents was employed to safely generate it for organic synthesis. A two-chamber reactor was used to gradually evolve and consume diazomethane under PV conditions, such as the methylation of carboxylic acids. This PV system provides a facile and safe method for the generation of hazardous diazomethane.

Summary: The study investigated the seasonal and temporal variation of total organic carbon (TOC) in the eastern Arabian Sea, revealing spatial changes in TOC concentrations in the top 100 meters during the North east and South west monsoons. High TOC levels were associated with Arabian Sea high saline waters advected from the Arabian Gulf, potentially influencing TOC enhancement in the region. Despite low primary productivity, excess TOC supported a high abundance of bacteria.

Summary: A dispersive solid phase extraction procedure combined with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction was developed for the extraction and enrichment of pesticides from fruit juices. Zeolitic imidazolate framework-carbon dot composite was used as the sorbent, and acetone was used as the elution solvent. The method showed satisfactory limits of detection and quantification, linear calibration curves, high enrichment factors, and extraction recoveries, and negligible matrices effect. All samples were found to be free of the analytes.

Summary: The C5H7+ fragment ion derived from 3-methyl1,4-pentadiene (MPD) was investigated using an ion mobility/mass spectrometer. The reduced mobilities (K0) of the C5H7+ fragment ions generated by MPD and cyclohexene correlated with effective temperature in He buffer gas, indicating that these fragments were identical cyclopentenium cations. Density functional theory calculations revealed the feasibility of the dissociation of MPD to cyclopentenium cations.

Summary: The selective hydrogen abstraction reactions on sp(3) carbons with oxyradicals were investigated using ab initio and DFT calculations. It was found that beta-hydrogen abstraction was favorable, consistent with experimental findings. NBO analysis revealed that the transferred hydrogen atom is partially positively charged when abstracted by an oxyradical, and hydrogens bonded to the most positively charged carbon in the substrate were predominantly abstracted, providing a simple compass for predicting regioselectivity in the functionalization of C(sp(3))-H bonds with oxyradicals.
