Summary: The study compares the turbulent characteristics of melt-blowing convergent jet and a typical free jet based on hot-wire measurements, investigating the effects of impingement on turbulence intensity. Results show that impingement leads to greater and faster spread of turbulent shear stress.

Summary: This work applied a high energy efficiency jet-flow HSM in suspension operation of high concentration solids for the first time, and evaluated and improved the applicability of Zwietering's criterion for jet-flow HSM. It investigated the effect of different structural parameters on critical speed and power consumption, and analyzed the status of solids dispersion through visualization.

Summary: This study investigated the soot formation behavior of hydro-processed renewable jet and petroleum jet fuels, revealing that petroleum jet fuels produce higher soot volume fractions, while renewable jet fuels with higher H/C ratio yield lower soot volume fractions. The smoke point results were positively correlated with the soot volume fractions of all tested fuels.

Summary: This study experimentally examines the mean flowfield and mixing characteristics of free supersonic jets from twin and triple converging-diverging nozzles placed in close proximity. With an increase in the number of jets, the spreading rate decreases, resulting in slower decay rate and increased core length.

Summary: In this paper, the authors study graphon particle systems with heterogeneous mean-field type interactions and their finite particle approximations. They obtain concentration estimates for the Wasserstein distance between the empirical measure and its limit over finite or infinite time horizon, under suitable growth or convexity assumptions. Their work extends the previous work of Bolley-Guillin-Villani (2007). (c) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Summary: This study discusses the effects of thermal and concentration convection on the peristaltic transport of Prandtl nanofluids and inclined magnetic field in non-uniform inclined channel. Mathematical modeling of Prandtl nanofluids with inclined magnetic field and double-diffusivity convection is described in detail and solved using numerical techniques to find closed form solutions of nanoparticle, temperature, and concentration. The impact of various physical parameters on peristaltic pumping patterns with double diffusive convection is shown through numerical and graphical results.

Summary: Predicting and optimizing the flow velocity distribution inside a semi-submersible aquaculture platform is crucial for providing a stable living environment for farmed fish. This study shows that increasing the solidity of the nets can enhance the damping effect on the flow, but also increases the current loads acting on the net. Different net solidities cause a significant decrease in flow velocity inside the aquaculture platform and an increase in drag force acting on the platform. Additionally, the distribution of drag force acting on the aquaculture platform under current conditions is also evaluated.

Summary: A new mechanism has been proposed to explain severe nocturnal convection in the US Great Plains during warm seasons. The interaction between a northern vortex and westerly wind perturbations is essential for the vertical motion, rather than the vortex or perturbations themselves. This suggests areas for improvement in model predictions of nocturnal convective storms.

Summary: In this paper, a new flushing form was proposed to enhance the machining of the groove surface and the side wall. Experimental results showed that internal flushing reduced the probability of secondary discharge and improved surface quality, but there were also issues such as the loss of central jet and sidewall recast layer.

Summary: This study investigated the heat transfer characteristics of a combined turbulent wall jet and offset jet, with a focus on the influence of a parallel co-flow stream. The results showed that the co-flow had no effect in the converging and combined regions, but led to a decrease in heat transfer characteristics in the merging region as the co-flow velocity increased.

Summary: This paper studies the G-invariant mean field type flow on a closed Riemann surface with a finite isometric group acting on it. Through a priori estimates and blow-up procedure, it is proven that the flow exists and converges to a solution of the mean field equation under certain geometric conditions.

Summary: This paper investigates the external flow field and key parameters of a new type of straight-swirling integrated jet (SSIJ) and verifies the results through a rock-breaking experiment. The experimental results show that the SSIJ has a higher central velocity and larger coverage area, which can guide the design of the RJD technology.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of centrifugal forces on the radial wall jet by studying a circular jet impinging perpendicularly onto a rotating disk. Time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry (TR-PIV) measurements are conducted in different jet regions. The results show that the rotation of the impinging wall results in strong centrifugal effects, affecting different regions of the jet. The radial velocity profiles and turbulence intensity distributions exhibit different behavior in stationary and rotating cases.
