Summary: Recent research has shown that ferroptosis, the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxides that leads to cell death, suppresses cancer metastasis. In this study, the essential role of serum/glucocorticoid regulated kinase 2 (SGK2) in promoting prostate cancer metastasis by inhibiting ferroptosis was identified. SGK2 knockdown inhibited the metastatic capacity of prostate cancer cells, while SGK2 overexpression inhibited ferroptosis and facilitated prostate cancer metastasis by phosphorylating FOXO1. These findings reveal a novel role of SGK2 in regulating ferroptosis and driving prostate cancer metastasis.

Summary: In this study, the overexpression of CCN3 in TNBC patients was found to be associated with unfavorable outcomes. CCN3 knockdown reduced cancer stem cell formation, metastasis, and tumor growth by inhibiting the EGFR/MAPK pathway. Furthermore, CCN3 was found to activate the Wnt signaling pathway, leading to increased expression of GPNMB.

Summary: In this study, the researchers investigated the function of cyclin-dependent kinase 14 (CDK14) in mammary development and breast cancer progression. The results showed that CDK14 is expressed in mammary basal cells and elevated in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). CDK14 knockdown or inhibition was found to suppress mammary regeneration and the progression of TNBC.

Summary: This study reveals the important role of LINC02454 in thyroid carcinoma (THCA) and elucidates its mutual regulation with HMGA2. Upregulation of LINC02454 is associated with poor prognosis, and its silencing can suppress the malignant behavior of THCA cells. HMGA2 promotes LINC02454 transcription and further accelerates THCA progression.

Summary: Our study revealed that circRASSF2 regulates BC progression through the miR-1205/HOXA1 pathway. High expression of circRASSF2 is associated with distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, differentiation, and tumor size in BC patients, leading to inferior overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). This indicates the potential of circRASSF2 as a therapeutic target for treating BC patients.

Summary: SOX2OT is an up-regulated oncogene in CRC, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. It acts as a competing endogenous RNA to upregulate SOX5 by sponging miR-194-5p, thus affecting tumorgenesis of CRC.

Summary: The study found that DDR2 and IFITM1 are highly expressed in breast cancer and are associated with poor clinical outcomes and patient survival. Knockdown of DDR2 or IFITM1 can inhibit the viability and invasiveness of breast cancer cells and restrict tumor growth. Simultaneous knockdown of IFITM1 and DDR2 can more effectively suppress breast cancer development.

Summary: This paper investigates the effect and molecular mechanism of miR186-5p on invasion and migration of breast cancer cells. It is found that miR186-5p is downregulated in breast cancer and upregulated in SBEM. Through various tests and experiments on MDA-MB-231 cells, it is observed that exogenous miR-186-5p mimic inhibits the expression of SBEM and its downstream pathways, leading to reduced proliferation and inhibited migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. These findings suggest that low expression of miR-186-5p in breast cancer contributes to the aggressive behavior of cancer cells.

Summary: This study constructed a spatiotemporal proteomic atlas of cynomolgus macaque brain development, revealing dynamic changes in protein abundance from early fetal to neonatal stages. These changes may indicate the risk of neural disorders during early fetal stages. Comparison between different species and transcriptomic data provides insights into the specificity of proteomics and genes with mRNA/protein discrepancies. This study is important for understanding primate fetal brain development.
