Summary: Occasional chipping can still occur with zirconia material despite its high strength. Emergency repairs can be accomplished using zirconia primer, adhesive agent, and resin composite when the fracture of zirconia exposes the zirconia framework. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of multiple applications of phosphate-containing primer on shear bond strength between zirconia and resin composite. The results showed that treating sandblasted zirconia surfaces with three applications of phosphate-containing primer prior to the adhesive agent maximized shear bond strength at zirconia and resin composite interfaces.

Summary: The study evaluated the microshear bond strength of calcium silicate-based cements (CSCs) to composite resin, finding that TheraCal LC had the highest bond strength in both etch-and-rinse and self-etch modes. Biodentine displayed significantly superior bond strength in the self-etch mode. Distinct morphological alterations were observed after acid etching, along with a decrease in the Ca/Si ratio of the substrate surface.

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the physico-mechanical properties of a new cavity base material containing mineral trioxide aggregate, LA-T1, for indirect restoration. LA-T1 showed similar depth of cure and microshear bond strength as Cavios (CAV) but lower compressive strength than Bulk Base Hard (BBH). The results suggest that LA-T1 can be clinically applied as its properties are comparable to CAV.

Summary: This in vitro study investigated the effect of different composite-handling agents (CHAs) on the shear bond strength of composite on dentin and enamel substrates. The results showed that the shear bond strength decreased when composite was mixed with CHAs on both dentin and enamel substrates.

Summary: The objective of this in vitro study was to investigate the micro shear bond strength (mu SBS) of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) to four different restorative materials. The alkasite group showed significantly higher bond strength than the other groups. Within the limitations of this study, alkasite could be a promising material for placement over MTA.

Summary: This study evaluated the effect of different commercially used calcium hydroxide and other intracanal medicaments on the dislodgement resistance of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) to root canal dentin. The results showed that the duration of application and the type of medicament did not significantly affect the dislodgement resistance of MTA to root dentin, but chlorhexidine exhibited promising effect.

Summary: The study assessed the effects of different surface treatments on repaired 3D-printed denture base's surface roughness and flexural strength. Results showed that all surface treatments significantly increased surface roughness and flexural strength, but none matched the strength of the intact group. Among the treatments, bur grinding provided the highest flexural strength.

Summary: This study evaluated the shear bond strength of a resin composite and a resin-modified glass ionomer to different bioceramic materials and compared the effects of immediate vs. delayed restoration placement on the bond strength. The results showed that the resin composite had higher bond strength to bioceramic materials compared to the resin-modified glass ionomer. Immediate restoration showed lower bond strength compared to delayed restoration, except in cases using resin-modified glass ionomer with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA).

Summary: The study demonstrated that 45S5 bioglass is effective in remineralizing enamel white spot lesions and improving the bond strength of orthodontic brackets bonded to demineralized enamel. The bioglass group showed significantly lower lesion depth and mineral loss compared to demineralized specimens, and intermediate shear bond strength between demineralized and intact enamel specimens. Additionally, bioglass paste formed brushite crystals on the treated enamel surface, indicating its potential as an effective remineralization agent.

Summary: This in vitro study examined the effects of OrthoMTA, a commercially available dental bioactive cement, on demineralized dentine using complementary analysis techniques. The study found that OrthoMTA can effectively recover the calcium species of the original tooth, demonstrating its potential for use in both direct pulp capping and remineralization of affected dentin in IPC procedures.
