Summary: The study identified independent risk factors for DSD in children in North China, including older maternal age, introverted paternal personality, low parental education level, low family income, and rare parent-child communication. This may provide valuable insights into family risk factors for DSD.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the association between sibling presence and changes in language trajectories of children with developmental delays. The results showed that the likelihood of language delays gradually increased for children with siblings. Therefore, clinicians should consider the presence of siblings in the familial context when evaluating the language development of children with developmental delays.

Summary: Previous studies have shown that very preterm children have a delay in communicative and linguistic development compared to full-term children. However, there have been fewer studies on communicative antecedents of language in low-risk preterm children compared to full-term children.

Summary: This paper explores the grammatical challenges faced by monolingual Spanish-speaking schoolchildren with Specific Language Impairment/Developmental Language Disorder (SLI/DLD) in developing clause complexity. The study examines the use of interclause relations in language samples of two groups: an experimental group of 24 schoolchildren with SLI/DLD and a control group of 24 children with typical development (TD). The results indicate that while both groups use parataxis as the most common relation between clauses, there is a decrease in paratactic relations and an increase in hypotactic relations as the students progress in primary education. The SLI/DLD group shows greater difficulties in mastering more complex hypotactic relations in fourth grade compared to the control group.

Summary: This study investigated the suspected delay in language development and its associated factors among early childhood in Southern Thailand. The results showed that the prevalence of suspected delay in development was 40.9%. Exceeding 2 hours of daily screen time and having a moderate-to-difficult temperament were significantly associated with the suspected delay in language development. The study suggested reducing screen time and implementing appropriate responses to promote children's language development.

Summary: Research has found that being male, being involved in school bullying, having low levels of awareness of online risk, and having high levels of affective empathy are significant onset risk factors for cyberbullying. Similarly, being male, being involved in school bullying and victimization, having high levels of affective empathy, and moral disengagement are onset risk factors for cybervictimization.

Summary: Studies show that the gestural behavior of monolingual infants aged 1-2 can predict their later language competencies. Specifically, the absence of index-finger pointing at 12 months seems to indicate a risk of language delay. This study confirms these findings in a sample of 42 bilingual infants, where the lack of index-finger pointing at 12 months is used as a diagnostic criterion to identify those at high risk for language delay at 24 months.

Summary: DyLNet is a large-scale longitudinal social experiment designed to observe the relations between child socialisation and oral language learning at preschool. The experiment recorded proximity interactions between about 200 children and adults every 5 seconds using autonomous Radio Frequency Identification Wireless Proximity Sensors. The dataset includes cleaned interaction data from a complete school year, as well as survey data about the socio-demographic profile and language development level of the pupils.

Summary: This study utilized coronary CT angiography and radiomic analysis to evaluate the impact of cocaine use, HIV infection, and ASCVD risk on plaque morphologic characteristics. The results showed that different risk factors had distinct effects on plaque features, and there was no overlap between parameters associated with elevated ASCVD risk or cocaine use and HIV infection.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the associations between longitudinal physical activity (PA) patterns and the development of cardiometabolic risk factors from adolescence to young adulthood. The findings revealed that decreasing PA from moderate to low intensity was associated with increased insulin and body mass index (BMI), while decreasing PA from high to moderate intensity was associated with decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and increased glucose. On the other hand, increasing PA was associated with decreased blood pressure.

Summary: COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the rates of postpartum depression, particularly among women who gave birth during the first lockdown. The study found that factors such as social support, situational anxiety, and exposure to COVID-19 events were associated with increased symptoms of postpartum depression.

Summary: The study aimed to identify risk factors for complicated maternal cesarean delivery (CD) in women undergoing a repeat low-order CD and to develop a predictive model for at-risk women. The results showed that a complicated CD2, Sub-Saharan African origin, and preterm delivery were risk factors for complications in CD3. However, it is difficult to predict which specific women will experience these complications. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of a complicated CD2 for detecting complications in CD3 were 21%, 90%, 30%, and 85%, respectively.
