We study a two loop induced seesaw model with global U(1)(B-L) symmetry, in which we consider two component dark matter particles. The dark matter properties are investigated together with some phenomenological constraints such as electroweak precision test, neutrino masses and mixing and lepton flavor violation. In particular, the mixing angle between the Standard Model like Higgs and an extra Higgs is extremely restricted by the direct detection experiment of dark matter. We also discuss the contribution of Goldstone boson to the effective number of neutrino species Delta N-eff approximate to 0.39 which has been reported by several experiments.

Metabolic phenotypes and incident type 2 diabetes: population-based Panasonic cohort study 6

Summary: This study found that the stable, metabolically healthy nonobesity group had a lower risk of incident type 2 diabetes compared to the stable, metabolically healthy obesity group. When metabolically healthy obese individuals changed to metabolically healthy nonobese status, their risk of developing type 2 diabetes was similar to that of participants in the stable metabolically healthy nonobesity group. These findings suggest the importance of paying attention to changes in metabolic phenotypes to prevent incident type 2 diabetes in the Japanese population.

Summary: This article discusses how to study dark matter and neutrinos using a dual-phase xenon time-projection chamber, which has extensive sensitivity to various dark matter candidates and can cover a wide range of parameter space. These detectors can also investigate neutrinos through neutrinoless double-beta decay and various astrophysical sources. A next-generation xenon-based detector will serve as a truly multi-purpose observatory to advance particle physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, solar physics, and cosmology.

Impact of first-order phase transitions on dark matter production in the scotogenic model

Summary: This work investigates the effects of first-order phase transitions on the singlet fermionic dark matter in the scotogenic model. The production mechanisms of dark matter are modified by these phase transitions, which can be one-step or two-step depending on the parameters. The first-order phase transitions could produce observable gravitational wave spectra.

Estimated small dense low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol and incident type 2 diabetes in Japanese people: Population-based Panasonic cohort study 13

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between estimated small dense low-density lipoprotein (sdLDL) and incident type 2 diabetes. Data from a health checkup program conducted by Panasonic Corporation between 2008 and 2018 were analyzed. The study found that estimated sdLDL cholesterol was an important predictor of future incidence of diabetes within 10 years and had a higher area under the curve compared to other lipid profiles.

Effects of Royal Jelly on Gut Dysbiosis and NAFLD in db/db Mice

Summary: This study focused on the therapeutic efficacy of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), unique to royal jelly (RJ), in treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Results showed that RJ improved NAFLD activity scores and decreased gene expression related to fatty acid metabolism, fibrosis, and inflammation in the liver. RJ also regulated innate immunity-related inflammatory responses in the small intestine and decreased the expression of genes associated with inflammation and nutrient absorption transporters. RJ increased the abundance of certain bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids and increased the concentrations of RJ-related MCFAs in the serum and liver. These MCFAs decreased saturated fatty acid deposition in liver cells and decreased the gene expression associated with fibrosis and fatty acid metabolism. RJ and RJ-related MCFAs improved dysbiosis and regulated the expression of inflammation-, fibrosis-, and nutrient absorption transporter-related genes, thereby preventing NAFLD.

Leucine and Glutamic Acid as a Biomarker of Sarcopenic Risk in Japanese People with Type 2 Diabetes

Summary: This study aimed to identify the serum metabolites associated with sarcopenic risk in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes. The relationship between dietary protein intake and the metabolites concerning sarcopenia was analyzed, and the factors affecting sarcopenic risk were clarified. Leucine and glutamic acid were found to be useful biomarkers for sarcopenia.

Sterile neutrino dark matter: relativistic freeze-out

Summary: This study examines the role of long-lived sterile neutrinos as dark matter in the universe. It investigates the possibility of these neutrinos forming a thermal bath with a singlet scalar while not being in thermal equilibrium with Standard Model fields. The research finds that the neutrino dark matter undergoes freeze-out in the dark sector, with relativistic freeze-out occurring in only a small part of the parameter space. Unlike the standard weakly-interacting-massive-particle (WIMP) scenario, the allowed dark matter masses can extend up to 10^4 TeV without conflicting with perturbativity.

Phenomenological and cosmological implications of a scotogenic three-loop neutrino mass model

The results showed that younger age and a low ratio of basal to bolus insulin were associated with an increased risk of ketosis after taking SGLT2 inhibitors.

Effects of dapagliflozin on renal function in type 1 diabetes patients in the real world: A retrospective multicenter study of the KAMOGAWA-A cohort

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of dapagliflozin on the renal function of type 1 diabetes patients. The results showed that after 24 months of dapagliflozin treatment, the decrease in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was significantly smaller compared to the non-use group. Additionally, the dapagliflozin group also had lower levels of HbA1c, insulin dosage, and urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) changes compared to the non-use group.

Semi-annihilating dark matter coupled with Majorons

Distinctive signals of boosted dark matter from its semiannihilation

Summary: This study demonstrates that the boosted dark matter produced by the semiannihilation process can be detected using future large volume neutrino detectors. The distinctive signals it produces differ from those of other semiannihilation and standard dark matter annihilation processes.
