Summary: Loss of skin elasticity and elastic properties that occur after 30 years of age can lead to wrinkles, skin laxity, and blemishes. People worldwide seek ways to rejuvenate their facial skin, preferring non-invasive methods due to the drawbacks of invasive methods. Skin hydration, particularly through hyaluronic acid (HA), is a popular non-invasive approach. However, the lipophilic properties of HA limit its effectiveness in penetrating the skin. Nanoparticles such as liposomes, niosomes, ethosomes, and ionic liquids have been suggested as carriers of HA to overcome this limitation. This study explores the use of nanoparticles for non-invasive delivery of HA to the epidermis and dermis for skin rejuvenation.

Summary: The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in facial rejuvenation. However, the results suggest limited clinical evidence, and further studies are needed to confirm its effects. Additionally, a consensus on endpoints for establishing clinical utility in patients requiring facial rejuvenation is warranted.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of PN filler injection in the periorbital area. The results showed that PN filler injection had better improvement on skin elasticity, hydration, roughness, and pore volume compared to non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injection. The improvement rate of dermal density was similar between the two groups. The study concluded that PN filler injection is an effective and safe method for periorbital rejuvenation.

Summary: In this study, the efficacy and safety of ART FILLER Universal (AFU) were evaluated for 18 months on the lips, nasolabial folds, and marionettes lines. The results showed that AFU significantly improved volume restoration in all treated areas after a single injection and remained effective throughout the study period. Moreover, the filler was well tolerated by the subjects.

Summary: A transparent additive-free fibrous (TAFF) facial mask consisting of a bilayer fibrous membrane is reported in this article. The inner layer is made of gelatin and hyaluronic acid, while the outer layer is an ultrathin PA6 fibrous membrane. This facial mask has excellent skin moisturizing effect, with the skin moisture content reaching 84% after 10 minutes of use. The design of this transparent additive-free facial mask may guide the development of new functional facial masks.

Summary: UV-induced formation of photoproducts in DNA is a major initiating event of skin cancer, and many analytical tools have been developed for their quantification. In this study, a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method was extended to quantify short DNA fragments containing photoproducts released from cells. The method was validated with a robust protocol and showed high sensitivity and specificity. Proof of concept for the use of excreted DNA repair products as biomarkers of UV genotoxicity was obtained through in vitro and ex vivo studies.

Summary: This study used a multispectral imaging approach to evaluate the actual quantity of sunscreen applied by users and assessed the effectiveness of using an SPF 50+ sunscreen guide. The results showed that without the guide, users applied an average of 1.04 mg/cm(2) during a single application and 1.23 mg/cm(2) during repeated applications. With the guide, the amount applied was 1.45 mg/cm(2), approximately 40% more than during a single application. It was concluded that providing users with precise guidelines can increase sunscreen application and improve photoprotection.
