Summary: The effects of different ancillary ligands and counterions on the photophysical properties of platinum(II) complexes were investigated. It was found that changing the fourth ligand in the platinum(II) complexes resulted in varying lifetimes and quantum yields. The study also revealed that the emission of the complexes is mainly influenced by the tridentate luminophore, with minimal contribution from the ancillary ligand.
