Summary: Objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of low tube voltage combined with adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction-V on the visualization and image quality of the Adamkiewicz artery. The results showed that using low tube voltage and 80% ASIR-V protocol could increase the visualization of the Adamkiewicz artery, improve image quality, and reduce radiation doses.

Summary: This study focuses on FPGA acceleration of a compute-intensive full IR algorithm based on Mumford-Shah regularization, proposing a beam-based asynchronous update algorithm to reduce computational cost. By optimizing the pipeline and implementing an LDCT-specific tiling strategy, the implementation achieves higher data reuse rate and 11.6x throughput compared to the state-of-the-art GPU version.

Summary: This study evaluated the use of DLIR algorithms in dynamic contrast-enhanced CT of the abdomen, showing improved SNR, CNR, and diagnostic acceptability in high and medium strength levels. The study also found a potential decrease in lesion conspicuity with higher reconstruction strength, although all hepatic lesions were still detectable.

Summary: This paper introduces Livermore Tomography Tools (LTT), a customizable scientific software package for computed tomography (CT) research. LTT is capable of processing various CT data accurately and rapidly, with support for multiple CPUs and GPUs. It offers 88 algorithms for pre-processing, reconstruction, post-processing, and simulation, and supports different scanner geometries. Several applications demonstrate LTT's accuracy, speed, and flexibility compared to other solutions.

Summary: The paper discusses the performance assessment of CT reconstruction algorithms and introduces a evaluation technique called physical quantification, which measures the features of the test object to assess the reconstruction efficacy. The study highlights the importance of choosing the optimal reconstruction strategy based on the features extracted from the scan.

Summary: This study analyzed the radiation dose and image quality of pediatric cardiac CT examinations at a university hospital in Leuven, Belgium, and compared them with findings from similar medical centers. The results showed that our center achieved good-to-excellent image quality and high diagnostic accuracy at low radiation doses, which is consistent with findings from other comparable medical centers.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic ability of low tube voltage CTV with IR for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) compared to ultrasonography (US). The study found that above the knee, both low tube voltage CTV with IR and conventional CTV had comparable diagnostic ability for DVT, with reduced radiation dose. However, eccentric DVT measured by CTV tended to be a false positive, especially in the calf muscular vein.

Summary: This study compared the image quality and lung nodule detectability of deep learning image reconstruction (DLIR) and adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction-V (ASIR-V) in ultra-low-dose CT. The results showed that compared with ASIR-V, DLIR reduced image noise, increased nodule detection rate, and improved measurement accuracy on ultra-low-dose chest CT images.

Summary: The study found that low-dose unenhanced CT had low detectability of pancreatic cystic lesions and main pancreatic duct dilation. For small pancreatic cysts and slight main pancreatic duct dilatation, the use of low-dose CT as a screening tool is not recommended.
